So this is how everyone's been communicating then?

Not to sound paranoid or anything but the last magically enchanted diary I wrote in that could write back tried to kill me so I'm just a bit skeptic.

But, I suppose this is as good a place as any to ask, where exactly am I?

Does it have a view of the fountain? If so, and you look outside, you will readily see me.

No, I think it's a bit aways from the fountain, not too far, obviously- just a bit down the road, I believe.

Forgive my unfamiliarity. I have been spending most of my time near the fountain, or else in the air scouting. I've done little to explore the town on hoof.

I should mention, having said all that, that I am a pony, which is apparently uncommon here.

Well, I've met centaurs before but I can't think of a time I've met a talking pony.

And on Equestria, we have no humans, so this experience has been quite enlightening for me as well. I can promise, at least, that I am not going to kill you, which I believe should put me one notch higher in your estimation than enchanted intelligent diaries.

Well, to be fair, I doubt if a diary would tell you it was going to try and kill you until it had you cornered. which sounds a bit odd when you say it like that-but it did set a giant snake after me.

That's true, the diary would not be so open about its intentions. But if it was not particularly subtle, you might be able to read between the lines.

Listen, you wouldn't happen to know how to sail a ship, would you?

I know nothing of sailing ships, I am afraid. I normally travel by air carriage, airship, or under my own wingpower. However, I think I will be learning shortly, since none of those seem feasible here.

yeah, that's the problem I'm having. I haven't got a clue how to sail a ship.

Oh, not sound arrogant, but I always thought I was rather good at getting along with others so long as my cousin wasn't threatening to beat them up for it.
