Chemistry is about transformation.

Everything in the world is held together by bonds- bonds which can be broken, but then can be rebuilt into something greater. I suppose the same is true in this world. I hope I have time here to find out. There are lot of things I'd like to explore if it's possible.

...Beginning with this journal. I've heard rumors about what it's supposed to do, I suppose I can conduct an experiment to see if they are true or not. Or these shards I've heard about. It's a lot to take in.

[Blue sky pirates can find Walt on the deck of their ship, staring as he usually does, out over the sea. Probably wondering if there is any place he can get a cup of coffee.]

That thought has crossed my mind many times, but I cam to the conclusion that it's impossible to go through life without any. Even if the oldest, strongest ones are broken easily. You have to make new ones.

Jesse had indeed been looking for his "captain"- not like there was far to go, but Walt was remarkably good at not being found when he didn't want to be. And he was always in the last place he looked- because then he stopped looking.

Of course, the little bundle of nerves that had sprung up since their last real conversation might have slowed his steps a little.

"Yo! Mr. White!" Jesse raised a hand, heading across the deck. "Here you are!" Casual enough. Breezy, even. Not bad.

When he heard his voice, Walt closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. They hadn't really spoken since they'd made out in this very same place, and with time to actually think about it, Walt was beginning to regret it. They were barely able to work together without going at each others throats now, how could they get along and have that kind of relationship?

He looked up at Jesse and lifted his hand, and couldn't help smiling just a little when he saw his face. "Where else would I be?"

"I dunno... somewhere on the boat, I guess." Jesse scratched at the back of his neck, looking around sheepishly. Not so smooth. He cleared his throat, then just shifted on his heels and leaned on the railing, looking out over the ocean next to him.

"So, uh." Again, smooth. "Um. Takin' a break?"

Ain' much, but if y' want my opinion? Don' waste too much time on the shards. Sounds more like a distraction an' a good way t' get us all workin' against each other rather than somethin' solid.

Hmmm... it doesn't surprise me to hear that, actually. I have no idea how many there are, of if there is any guarantee I'll be able to return home if I were to obtain them.

...Sounds like a giant pain in the ass.

I've been getting that feeling the more time I've spent in this world.

Have you been here long? Do you know who this Davy Jones is? Where I come from, I think he's a character in some movie...

All I know is I've seen him once at the beginning of a race, but other than that, nothing.

Chemistry- what makes up the things we use every day, or what we eat, or using things we have now, and changing them to create new and better things. Transformation, like I said.

There is chemistry in pretty much everything, even the water.

What are bonds exactly? \You mentioned they bond us to people, but I don't see how exactly that works. I mean I don't see anything after all.

Bonds are forces that hold things together. They can't really be seen, but they are there. There wouldn't be anything solid if the bonds weren't there.

When it comes to people, they have bonds too. Especially when its someone you're close to, there are very strong bonds there keeping you together.

"Good afternoon! Deep in thought? I see, I see."

Ringabel, never one to keep his nose out of other people's business, had claimed his own spot on the deck. He tried staring out to sea like Walt, trying to see whatever it was that he might be looking at, but there was nothing but endless blue. That meant deep thoughts, of course, and though he didn't expect them to be shared, that didn't mean he couldn't try.

Walt jumped, startled out of his thoughts, then glanced over to the other side of the deck at Ringabel. He realized he didn't know much about him- He'd only gone along with him because Jesse seemed to trust him, and they really had no other choice.

Now was as good a time as any.

"Yeah, I've had the time. Being confined on a ship, out at sea for days at time, a person's mind tends to wander. Seems like you're doing the same," he said, glancing over at Ringabel.

I am indeed. I am always looking for more information, learning something new. I didn't come here by my own choice, I'm still acclimating to the environment so to speak.
