[Finnian had been happy that Ciel had grown up and become some sort of funky looking chicken. What he hadn't been expecting when he had woken up the next day was to find an egg at the bottom of his bed. It was enough to cause him to nearly fall out of bed in shock, Ciel his friend since Easter moving to lightly peck him on the face. It wasn't long before he grabbed the journal and soon every word could be heard.]

I didn't think when I woke up this morning that there would be an egg at the bottom of my bed. But... I thought Ciel was a boy chicken, not a girl... [Slowly it dawns on him.] Eh?! It means I've named the young master after a female chicken... That isn't good at all, I'm sorry. [He sounded generally upset as the chicken could be heard as Finnian had gone about dealing with the situation. It's quiet for around a few minutes before the young man, not a little bit calmed down speaks directly to the journal.]

Question! Is it normal for chickens to lay hard boiled eggs?

Yes! An-And I'm not even sure how that is possible. [At least he was right with one thing... it wasn't normal and that just made him panic more.]

But it's hard boiled...And kind of delicious.

Given what else has happened around here...it's not too weird.

...Hold on, it'll be easier to talk in person. Where are you right now?

[Hey, he figured it was a normal egg and that nothing would come of eating the egg. Apparently he could be so very wrong. Ciel the chicken sounds way to happy about it, happily clucking away.]

I'm in my room, but when you get to my cabin, please knock first. [He needs to get his hat on and behind his head.]

[He's not one to go barge into someone else's room without asking anyway. He shuts the journal and several minutes later, he's knocking on Finnian's cabin door.]

How can someone be messing with me? I saw the chicken lay the egg and it was hard boiled.

Hard-boiled eggs are pretty limiting, food-wise.

"Naming your master after a chicken probably isn't a good idea regardless of the chicken's gender. I mean, if I were your master I'd be so offended. I'm surprised he hasn't fired you yet." Dave is just joking. He has no idea what this is about. He just knows that he wouldn't want anyone to call him a chicken, and naming one after someone is almost the same thing.

"...and there's no way it's normal for a chicken to lay boiled eggs. Unless you boiled the chicken. But if you did it would be dead so..."

[He couldn't help but name it as such, but now he thinks he needs to rethink the name and remember his young master another way. Right now he wasn't quite sure how to go about that.]

I-I guess I should be glad he isn't here, but I don't think he'd fire me. [He...would really hope not if he came back anyway.]

I didn't boil the chicken, so I have no idea how it lays hard boiled eggs.

"Your master sounds like a generous guy. I would fire someone for less, especially if they weren't useful."

Okay, he probably wouldn't, unless the person was really annoying.

"If you didn't boil the chicken maybe it's overheating. Does it have a fever?"

[Considering he is useful in Ciel's eyes, he wouldn't be fired, but it won't stop him worrying.]

I-I don't know. I don't even know how to check if a chicken has a fever?

Me either. Too bad there aren't any veterinarians around here.

[Though he isn't sure a fever would cause a chicken to lay boiled eggs anyway. How does that even happen?]
