Well. Don' know who drugged me or when it happened, but clearly I ain' wakin' up anytime soon.
Definitely wanna know what it is though, 'cause dis is amazin'!
[And really detailed. Weird. Oh well! He's too excited about it being pirates. He's not at all fond of them or their history in his world. Because what thief would like other thieves? I mean, really.]
Just one lil' thin could make dis really perfect...
[And it wasn't so much a thing as a person...
A little later, the same guy scribbled into the journal:]
[written]
What's the point of these things anyways
Also what's with the fountain
[There's some kind of scribble that looks like a gator attempting to eat what he just wrote down. Clearly someone is too amused or bored with themselves.]

So a big fat ruby then? I'm down.
[If there's something shiny to take, he's on board.]

I'm inclined to believe them.

It is. It has to be. She knows that Cajun voice. God damn. Just as she was feeling really great, actually.
So. No. Not engaging. Not... vocally, at least. He knows her voice. And she'd rather not... totally deal with him right now. Not until she's sure. After all, Logan sounds like Logan. But he wasn't Logan.
So...
Writing. He doesn't know her handwriting. She's pretty sure he doesn't, at least.]
Point is: they're like a cellphone. You talk near them, everyone hears. You write in them, everyone sees.
And the fountain is a broken down basin with a poem written on it to distract us all and make us chase something shiny rather than actually worrying about who's keeping us here and how.
[A pause. And then. Another note:]
Is that a gator?

It was too boring. Even if it was Rogue.]
Yes.
[Hey, he registered everything else. He's just responding to the question.]

Better get over thinking this is a dream pretty quick, Cajun.
[After all, his accent isn't hard to identify.
If you're from the South, Rogue. So she can totally get away with calling him that without outing herself.]Plenty here can kill you if you aren't watching for it. And from what I hear tell, locals on the island you showed up on'll kick you out pretty quick if you don't get a boat or join up with a crew.
Hope you know how to sail.

[It's good to know about the island though. He's already been there a couple of days and Remy's been sensing he's been wearing out his welcome with them. Especially after a lot of their shit seems to have started going missing.]
So where you from? Not many people know a Cajun accent.
[Especially not after a few piddly sentences like that.]
written:
He's right, though. "Cajun" isn't an accent a lot of people can place. But, oh, she knows that voice. More than she knows the accent.
Damn.
Well.]
I'm a bit of a river rat myself.
