Fuda 2 - Entry

I know this must sound rather desperate and selfish of me, but if there is a ship heading toward Isla Empieza and can take on another crew member, I'm trying to get off this island. I'm not sure what I can offer toward running a ship, but I'm willing to work my share if a crew would take me. I know not many know me in this world, so feel free to respond to my entry if you want to.

We're on our way to Empieza right now, actually. Who's this and whaddaya need in a crew?

Ah! I guess the journal's don't cover that.

My name is Tsuzuki Asato. I don't do a lot of sailing, so I suppose I'm not really sure what kind of crew to look for. The only time I really was on a ship I worked in the casino. I'm used to all different kinds of personalities, so I'm not too picky about who I'm with...

[There is a pause as something does come to mind.]

Though I do ask that they not be cruel to innocent people. I really don't appreciate that kind of behavior.

Oh, hey, it's you! Didn't you know you needed a ship, yet.

Well, if ya don't get any other prospects, I captain a motley sort of crew. Two man-sized turtles and a lizard girl, a kid with a dragon, a lady with some animals that fight for her, and a mermaid. Oh, and the rest of us plain old human guys. We've sorta gotten in the habit of pickin' up strays.

Well, I think I've been here for a while, and I'm getting restless. I figured if I was going to attract a ship's eye I needed to make myself known. Guess I should identify myself in these journal entries, huh?

That crew sounds like a lot of fun. If I don't hear from anyone, I'll be sure to try getting a hold of you. It was Gan Ning of Wu, right?

That's right. Good, ya remember.

We'll be into port in a couple o' days. The ship's the Booya... somethin'-or-other. Mikey named it and I can never say it right.

Bu-ya? I think I can remember that. Which one is Mikey though? Of your crew, I mean.

Oh...he ain't around anymore. He was one of the turtle brothers.

Oh, I see. It's too bad. I would have liked to have met him. He sounds like he was quite the character from what you've already told me.

Oh, he was. But the two still with us are characters themselves, so if you come say hey, you'll find that out.

[The sounds of loud clapping with excitement can be heard.]

I will have to at least come meet you when you come to Isla Empieza! Hm-hm!

I'm sure there are some crew who are, but at the same time if the crew you really want to join isn't. You can always use that nav at the store.

Could I ask what store you are referring to? I might have been here a while, but I didn't get to every place, surprisingly.

I'd be surprised if you never heard of Backwater Brig. it's the only place where you can get almost anything.

Almost anything? Do you mean supplies and things like that?

That and also things one might not find in normal circumstances such as things from your world, maybe. Things that aren't possibly from this time also. It's strange but that place also has a Nav you can use to get to any ship be they on the island or not.

At least I am saying this in assumption you have a crew.

Ah, I see. Maybe I could find my coat there. I didn't have it when I woke up.

I haven't found a crew yet. Though there is one captain that has left me an invitation should I not find one. He seems pleasant, but I'm still hoping to hear from some others in the mean time.

Could you tell me how often crews take strangers from Isla Empieza? I feel like I may have tried a big gamble like this.

Ah, strangers appear every month. Usually everyone has to be off the island after a week or two otherwise natives will chase them off. So I'm surprised you managed to survive the whole month.

As for other crews, I can always help you see if there is a crew that might suit your tastes. It depends on what you would want. I say this because all crews might not be looking at their journals twenty four seven and might not have seen this.

I have a way of blending in, but even that hasn't made things completely easy for me. Like I mentioned, I really would like to get off this island.

I've been trying to wrap my head around what kind of crew to look for. What do you suggest I be looking for?

Ultimately, it depends on who you are as a person and what you want out of this whole situation. Most want to go home, obviously. Some simple want adventure to explore and occasionally some will destroy things.

There are some who do things such as a Black Market since we're pirates we can't do anything legal no matter what. There is much choice, depending on what you want to do.

I do want to get home, but I'd like to step on as few people as possible. I kind of have a serve and protect nature from my work. I wouldn't mind enjoying my time here. I like adventures and meeting new people. I work with a variety of personalities, so I can almost get along with anyone. Does that help?

It helps a little, but question. Do you purposely get into trouble or would you rather avoid it?

Oh... Well, I try not to get into trouble, but I seem to end up in it anyway. I just go with the flow at that point. Sometimes, it can be fun.

Ah, then there might be some crews you could look into if you'd rather avoid trouble.

Wonderful! I was afraid I might be out of luck as far as fitting into a crew. I usually am the weird guy.

Oh, there was a captain I spoke to a short while ago. His name is Gan Ning. I don't know much about the ships out there. Have you heard of him though?

I believe I have heard of his crew, but I don't speak to them a lot so I know they don't purposely get into trouble or make a huge thing, which is kind of a good thing when you think about it.

Yeah, it does sound good. Thank you for your help. I never was one to pick up new technology very quickly, but these journals are a whole other park for me. How do I get a hold of people specifically in this thing?

That's actually pretty easy. It depends on who they are? So firstly are they actually here? If so if you know there name it;s easy to give them a private message.

It's private, too? Do I have to write their name down in the journal or say it out loud? The spells in my world work like that, at least.

That's about right on how to make it private to people or to block certain people from seeing it, so congrats on that one.

Great! I like when I figure things out! Most of the time I'm not so lucky.

So I just have to know the person's name, and I can get a message to them. Sound easy enough. Now, I just have to beg someone to get me off this island. I'd rather be stuck in limbo...

Has no one given you an offer still?

Well, Gan Ning said if no one offered his crew had room, but I need to get a hold of him again if no one else offers. He said his ship was actually headed back here, so I have some time to look into others. I have a feeling that he might be my best bet though.

I would offer our ship, but nothing really exciting happens here like I'm sure they would on the other. After all we're just a Black Market ship trying to avoid trouble as much as possible.

A Black Market ship? There's a market like that here? What exactly do you trade, since you want to stay out of trouble? I would think Black Market would draw more in for you. At least, the Black Market I'm used to does anyway.

Considering one can't sell stuff legally here being....you know pirates, the only way we can get money is the Black Market. It also depends on what we trade. Food, clothes, weapons are popular. Also sell alcohol on occasion, that can sell well depending on where you go.

We've actually avoided trouble, surprisingly.

Oh, that doesn't sound much like the Black Market back home. They deal in some disturbing stuff. Sounds like a nice business to be in here though. The whole 'I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine' deal can be pretty nice. Good to know trouble don't follow you. You seem like such a helpful person, so only good should come your way.

I'm happy I come off like that, but being here for so long and seeing people come monthly all confused, helping is the best thing I can do. I hope things go well for you too.
