[ Lucy doesn't appear to realize that her journal turned on, it appears. She's still on The Shepherd from the sounds of things - at first, there is silence. Then: ]

Hnn... maybe we could do with a little music? What do you think, Plue?

[ Yah, she thought so too. ]

Open, Gate of the Lyre! [ One quick summoning sequence later, and then there is singing and harp music. Enjoy the free entertainment! At the end of the song Lucy realizes the journal WAS recording in fact. ]

Ah - it was on all that time...?! ...well, as long as it's on... It's been a while, but I really should ask... Zeref if you see this - if you're still here - I was wondering how you're doing? Have you found a crew? And... I wanted to know if it would be all right to ask some things of you...

Pu-pu-pUN!!

Eh? AH! Plue, be careful you're going to fa-- Hiek! Lyra come and help me!

[ The recording ends there, but anyone aboard The Shepherd is free to be privy to the events before the song and after - while Lucy is trying to keep poor Plue from falling overboard. Whoops, clumsy spirits! ]

[ The music was nice, yes. Zeref was familiar with Celestial Spirit magic, but it's been a while since he's seen it (or, well, heard it for that matter). But he was a bit surprised to hear Lucy address him afterward. He allows a few seconds to pass, before answering. ]

I'm fine. I have one, yes. I'm onboard the Hope. [ Out of necessity (and mild curiosity concerning their magic), mind you. He blinks at her next request, before sighing. She's a member of Fairy Tail, it's not like she's going to ask him how to create her own version of Lullaby, right? ]

If you insist. [ Though he'll cut this conversation short, if he has to. ]

[ His breath caught in his throat when she mentioned Natsu. ]

... yes, he did. [ His voice cracked. It took him a second or two to regain his composure. ] Him, that Exceed, and two others.

..What were you doing there?

It was something of a self-imposed exile. I wanted to find a quiet, out-of-the-way place where I could lay low, in peace. It was a natural choice.

[ That's the simplest explanation, anyway. ]

.. what do you mean, it was a natural choice? Did you have some kind of connection to the island?

[ That can't be right, wouldn't there have been something in the books about Zeref --? Because he doesn't match up to /anything/ she's heard about that guy. ]

Those people were after you, weren't they?

It was in a tropical climate, so I wouldn't ever have to worry about the cold. There was plenty of food, water... worst I'd have to worry about would be the occasional storm. Mavis Vermillion's presence also made for the perfect smokescreen to hide my own presence behind. She let me stay there, after all.

[ 'Those people?' Oh, she means Grimoire Heart? Because pretty much everyone was after him. Dark Guilds who wanted his power, the Magic Council wanted him dead or in prison... seriously, get in line, Hades. ]

Grimoire Heart wanted to use me to create their 'world of magic.' What they didn't anticipate was that I wanted nothing to do with such a plan. [ A sigh. ] Hades clung to one of the many myths and legends invented to explain my disappearance. He was a fool who somehow thought he could control my power better than I, myself, can. I'm glad he's dead. Killing him was probably the first good thing I've done since going into hiding.

[ That's right, Lucy, he killed Hades. With one shot, he might add. ]

[SOMEONE IS LOOMING FROM BEHIND YOU, LUCY]

Juvia thinks Lyre has a nice voice, Miss Lucy.

[ And in terror, Lucy jumps overboard! ...except not really. Lucy instead smile at her friend. Both water mage and celestial spirit. ]

She does, you're right. I don't summon her that often, since my contract with her doesn't allow it, but for something like this...

A little relaxation for a change. Aside for that storm, I mean, I'm really not used to this much quiet. [ She's used to her guildmates invading her home at any given time, especially Natsu. And her bed feels a lot colder without her space h--er, best friend. N.. Not that she was going to tell him something like that! That... was just too embarrassing. ]

[Juvia pauses to look around. Lucy was right...the ship was a little TOO quiet, Juvia was also use to the loudness that was Fairy Tail. She was probably one of the more quieter ones of the guild too]

It's not really the same, is it?

Not even close. But you know, these guys, as nice as they are, they can't replace Fairy Tail. And they're not supposed to, really. But still, it's unsettling when I've been accustomed to the craziness that Natsu and the other caused. Between him and Gray coming into my room at all hours, and then Gray always forgets to keep his clothes on --

Yes, exactly. The people here have treated Juvia kindly and she's grateful for that and evrything, but-
