Uh, hello?

I hope you can hear me. [still getting used to talking to an object and not sing at it...]

There seems to be a lot of confusion coming from this book today. I hope everyone is alright out there!

My name is Ariel and I am... sailing [she giggled like this is a WONDROUS thing] with the Hazmat crew! It has been very interesting so far, but I am curious... has anyone seen Wan? I can check out the deck and over board, but not in the cabins. He hasn't stopped to check on me in a few days. [you can't see, but her hands fish through her hair as if to fix it while she talks about Wan. Oiy]

I didn't hear if anything happened.

That's all, really. I hope things pick up for everyone!

[Wan is gone. Ariel has noticed. Boo.]

Hey Scales, you doing all right out here?

[He wags the journal he has in hand.]

I took a look around down below, but I didn't see Wan around. Don't know if he's used the Nav recently either.

[[omg, I thought no one replied to this, sorry for the wait!]]

[She's in the little row boat tub wan made her, and as the boy came out to talk, she popped up on the edge and leaned over, resting on her arms and looking down towards him.]

[The name "Scales" was interesting, but so far she had liked it. Nicknames were neat.]

I am doing well. I was just worried about Wan. [her face flushed a bit and she tried to hide it in her hair.] I haven't seen him in a while. [her tail flipped behind her, splashing a bit as she frowned.] I didn't think of... the Nav... thing. Maybe he has gone to visit his friend?

((OOC: Not a problem!))

[Could've been worse. Could've been "Seashells," but he doesn't want to embarrass anyone, himself included.]

It's possible, although I don't remember hearing him mention anything about that. Otherwise...

[Well, that's not that bad. What's wrong with seashells---don't answer that.]

[But she was frowning still, just softly.]

Maybe he will reply to my, ah, journal post, is it? To my book. Then we'll know.

[look, she's hopeful! ;_;]

[Gaius nods.]

Yeah. I'm sure if he's seen it, he'll say something.

And... if he doesn't? If he isn't here? What does... that mean? [at this point she only has a bit of info on what happens to people here.]

...if not, then...he's probably been sent back home. It happened to me, and presumably the others that have vanished from our crew before then.

Oh... [she sunk back a bit more in her tub, forearms on the side, chin resting on it and her red hair blanketing her.]

So that does happen? People go home? [she didn't want to. Not yet.]

It's pretty random, so far as I've heard. The main problem is that you don't really know for sure that they've gone home unless they come back.

I went home a couple months ago and didn't even know I'd been here until I got back, and even then I didn't remember exactly, at first.

[Sad frown still, watchful of him and how he spoke.] I see. Are you glad to be back though? Or would you rather be home?

....heh. Might be kinda strange, but I don't mind being back here at all. I know there's things to do back home, but now that I know for sure that I can pick up where I left off, that's one less thing to worry about.

But being here, well, this is the only chance I get to be around any of you, and since that experience doesn't carry over whenever I go back home, I've decided I'm going to make the most of it while I'm here.

[She considered what he said, leaning there a bit as he spoke. He had a nice voice.]

I like being around all of you as well. Everyone here has been really amazing. Though I'm sad to hear I won't remember you all if I go home. I would hope to remember everything if I make it back.

[He nods slowly at that.]

Now that I'm here again and remember it, I wish those memories would stick too. Got some interesting people around here, and I don't think I could've asked for a better crew to sail with.

[Well, that made her frown softly. Goodness, she'd hate to go back an not remember everyone, but she's also hate to never see her family again.]

There really are some wonderful people around h ere. I hope we remember, or at least we live a good lifetime here with each other. This crew has been amazing to me. I'm so glad Wan found me.

[She looked sad at her own mention of Wan. She hoped he hadn't gone home, but maybe it was better for them if they had. She's unsure still]

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. ...ah...

[He isn't quite sure what to say regarding Wan, and he has only one go-to solution for when he's feeling down. Digging into a pocket, he pulls out a little box, tugging the lid off carefully before he holds it out to her.]

You like chocolate?

[It's okay. She'll get over it if he's really gone. She just tends to get attached to people very fast.]

[As he offers a little box and takes the lid off, she peeks up into it curiously, unsure]

What is chocolate? [she hasn't even see about that in waterlogged books!]

You're...not kidding me.

[Now that is a darn shame and he's going to correct that right now.]

It's a confection. ...it can go in a lot of things, but sometimes it's just nice to have as a sweet. Try one. I made these myself.

[confection? Headtilt. She doesn't know what that is either, but she doesn't say so this time, just in case she can fake it. When he says she can have on she raises up a bit more on her tail and peeks in at the box. Carefully she picks one up and looks at it.]

Thank you. [because politeness counts.] You... eat it, yes? [she said, sniffing it a bit and smiling softly. It doesn't smell bad.]

Yep. Careful, they melt if they get too warm, so you probably wouldn't want it all over your fingers- not that I've found it a difficult problem to solve.

[He grins and picks a piece out of the box for himself, giving her a nod before he takes a bite out of it, even if he could have easily popped the whole thing into his mouth.]

These ones have just a little bit of caramel in 'em. And a sprinkling of sea salt. Caramel's...mostly made from sugar with some butter and cream. You mix it over heat so that it melts and gets nice and gooey.

[she looked confused still as he spoke about it, but seeing how he took a bite, she looked it over and took a bite of her own. Blinked, then smiled] Oh wow! This is really amazing! [she seemed to be tasting it over, feeling the texture and it’s strange sweetness. She giggled, as if this were the most delightful thing. Such a teen girl]

And you made these? What a wonderful talent.

[Gaius grins.]
