[Keeping record of any new island they came across was a pretty smart idea. However, the place left him quite miserable really, but you won't hear any complaints here, nooope completely out of his element so the least he could do to keep himself occupied was jot down some notes by the fireside.]
My crew and I were blown to a southern island labeled on the map as Manilla. I only say that since so far we haven't found any other signs of life to say otherwise. What we have found so far is sand, more sand, some rocks of varying sizes and more sand. Some of the larger stone platforms seem to have been dug out underneath and provide mild shade during the daytime, but there are some reptilian creatures that make their home under there.
[There's a brief pause as he looks out to their destination, the large building still some distance away and shadowed against the evening sky, then back to the book.]
This is likely to change. There is some large structure toward the center of the island, hopefully the walls to some city. If we find out anything more, it will be when we arrive there.

I don't care why it's hot! I want it to be not hot!
[He raised his arms, starting to chant:]
Give me shade! Give me shade! Give me--
[Shut him up, or he'll keep going until he's out of breath.]
action
[Every now and then there were moments when Jade wondered whether he was being too hard on Luke
and then there were moments like this.]
action
Piers breathed, trying to will himself back to his calm center, but the at last Luke's whining got to him.
A simple flip of the hand, likely unseen by the rest, called down a torrent of frigid water upon Luke.
Piers merely stood to his full height and pushed his hair out of his face.]
There. Perhaps that will cool you down.
action
NOW I'M FREEZING!
[...there is no winning here, guys.]
action
You'll warm up soon enough in this weather. I suggest you enjoy the coolness while it lasts.
action
Yes, do. I will not do that again.
action
But now my clothes are all wet! And sand is sticking to my boots!
action
[Sure it would probably burn the clothes (among other things), but at least they wouldn't be wet!]
action
Please don't make a bigger mess to clean up. It's hot enough.
action
action
[He glanced at Piers.]
I wouldn't mind hearing how exactly you did that, but I suspect you're not in lecturing mood until we find some shade.
action
...
To keep it simple, I've an affinity for water and everything associated. Calling a torrent like that isn't difficult for me, but it comes at personal expense.
I do not wish to use it often while we're in this world.
action
[Jade was intrigued, but there wasn't much point in pestering the man with questions when he was already irritable.]
I'd like to learn more about it, but it can wait. It's good to know we have another water source in case of emergency, at least.
action
...Just remember, water that's too pure can't support life. I don't know how it will be in the long term, and I advise against it.
action
[And then he turned stern.]
Do you understand, Luke? Don't go badgering Piers for water. Honestly.
action
I'm not the one that told him to use his powers!
[He turned a sullen look at Piers.]
So don't do stuff if it's going to be a problem. Yeesh...
[...to translate, that's Luke's way of saying he's worried and you better not do that again unless you have to.]
action
Just don't complain about the heat in the future and we'll be even.
action
Why are we even bothering with this place anyway? Why didn't we just find another island. You know; one with actual people and not endless desert?
action
Until then, we'll just have to search the hard way.
