First Song [text]

[This one is keeping herself to just text due to... an inability to actually talk.]

I'm a new arrival, and I can't offer much.

[At least she's to the point. Red's done this before, somewhat. The difference is that this time there's people that can actually read her messages.]

But I need information.

[She's leaving it that unspecific for a reason.]

Voice

[Since Marco is still moving around and doesn't have time to write he uses voice again with a slight pause to try to figure it out and think it over.]

Extremely not. Not very much, not at all.

No one knows for sure how many pieces there are, but I'd guess closer to a thousand than a hundred, and less than five are found? And I think one got used up.

[Which suits Marco just fine, since adventures are all about the endless journey for him, not the destination.]

Don't worry about it so much.

Whatever you're so eager to get back to will still be there when you're ready.

I have a more interconnected relationship with time and it's fluidity than most people.

Also, I have enough experience here to say that I know this to be true. People who are dead in their own worlds can continue on in this one with friends and family, sometimes those friends and family will even go back to their time, and come back here. No time passes there, only here. No one from your home will know you're gone, because by the time you are back, you are seamlessly back to where you belong.

If that still doesn't explain it, I'll make you some diagrams later when I finish with these maps, yoi.

You're familiar with the concept of time and space as a fabric, aye?

Think of it as being folded, or even crumpled. While you're here, your other timeline is hidden in the fold. When you go back it smooths out. If you get back here again, it's another crumpling.

No, I'm also part bird. Time is a very intricate part of our psyches.

Aye. Timing is everything with birds.
fierybluebird: (arrrr I be a pirate! where's me eyepatch)

Oh, aye absolutely.

You know the chickadee song only has two notes? The rhythm, time of day, and exact length of notes completely rephrases the meaning of what they're conveying. Early morning it's usually pointers to food, and midday it's warning. Spring it might be mating if it's long enough, or calling the hatchlings back home if it's firm.

Exactly!

You're a musician then?
fierybluebird: (hm?)

No?

What happened?
fierybluebird: (serious face)

Fair enough.

Well, I've heard you only need to get one piece of the jewel to make a wish.
