They wrote that message on the first page of that book. I didn't know what to think of it, so I asked here.

Do you know them?

I have never spoken at length with her, or her assistant. I mostly observe and read and listen to what she has said to others. She is our ally, to a degree, but not one I personally entirely trust. Especially since her reasoning for aiding us has never been clear, and she seems more than willing to abandon us for her own ambitions.

That doesn't sound like someone I'd want to rely on.

My crew does not. We use what we can, but we are largely determined to work on our own.

Our goal is to assemble the jewel and return home. We are not to be distracted by un-related treasure or other frivolous matters.
