[Deep breath. It's not that scary to talk to a book. Even if it's really weird and she hates this and wants to go home. She was supposed to actually have some time off. Be a slightly normal teenager.

That was the deal.

Save the world, get a week off.

So, early afternoon on the eleventh, after some exploring, she's sitting with her journal, posing her question.]

I jus' need t' ask y'all somethin'.

[Because this is important. Seriously important.]

Has anyone seen pyramids? Here. They might be stone or maybe metal. I just need t' know if there are any.

[If there are, maybe Apocalypse is still trapped, pulling them here to get his 'keys' again. To open whatever doors there are in this world.

Because that's who she suspects this 'Davy Jones' is. Just another name of Apocalypse for another place in space and time.

The last part, she says to herself, more as an after note. She doesn't quite know how these things work yet.]

They're pro'ly made out of stone, but it might be metal.

Pretty weird way to make them look. What are they for?

They're monuments for the dead.

Oh... [Well now she kind of felt like a jerk.] I had no idea, I've never seen buildings like those before.

They're real old in my world. Tourist attractions now.

Tourist attractions?

Famous places people go to a lot.

Shouldn't a building that kind of importance be treated differently?

When people used 'em for that, they were. But it's been a couple thousand years, so... People don' see it that way anymore, I guess. Can' go inside most of 'em, though. They just go t' see the outside.

That's interesting to them? I understand that it's where they keep the dead, but... They're not much to look at from the outside.

They're... I dunno. In my world, they're exceptional. 'Cause they were made before modern technology but stand longer than anythin' we can build with it.

[What? Humans can't figure out a way to make buildings that last longer than triangles? Okay, so they're not really triangles, but still.]

Aren't you supposed to get better at what you do as time goes on?

An' we usually do.

But that's why the pyramids are considered a wonder of the world.

They're a wonder? [Seriously, they're just not-really-triangles. Really durable ones, apparently, but yeah.]

At least they look different from all the other buildings made by surface dwellers.

They are. They've withstood the test of time and are considered a man-made wonder of the world.
