[A little girl's voice comes through the journal. Except, it's a little more hardened and bitter than usual! Anyone who's spoken to B.B. before may not find the voice instantly recognizable, a definite change from the usual high pitched tone the young lady has.]

Are we done crying about everyone leaving yet?

I've been here what, half a year now? I get it at this point. Who stays and who goes is completely up to some asinine bullshit whim. But guess what? Everyone whining won't bring them back. That's just how it is.

Grow a pair and move the hell on already. Leaving is what humans do. If you don't know that by now, there's no hope for any of you.

[Don't mind her. She might be sampling some fruits from way up high.]

Namur is neither human, nor vanished into thin air. And if you paid any attention at all you would know that more than half of those who've gone missing have returned. And if you paid better attention you would sift through the clues enough to know that the Navy has been prone to taking prisoners and removing them from Davy Jones' grasp. Only a fool would think that the Navy is our only foe to worry about, but amounting it to Jones' whims is exactly what they want us to do.

Because I'm not stupid enough to get that invested in someone here. If they leave, they leave.

Oh, of course. How silly of me to not know what's happening in your life. If it were so easy to pay attention, then perhaps we shouldn't have everyone on the sea consoling themselves over someone going missing. Maybe they should be let in on the secret that we're just meant to be pawns to the Navy and Jones then, hm?

[His own tone doesn't change. It remains perfectly calm, almost serene.]

An unwise point of view.

Living in the past is foolish, of course. Holding onto what's gone so tightly that nothing new can come. But it's equally foolish to look straight ahead with no notice of what's gone before. Experience, especially viewed through the lens of a year or more past, is a valuable teacher.

Though I'm sure you'll disregard all of that.

It wasn't like us sitting around, crying and asking where she was brought her back. There's no sense in feeling sad about that. Tch.

If you thought she was locked up and being experimented upon because she is different from most people's ideas of human [including Marco's because... duh?] it wouldn't be untoward to ask the other ships if they had seen her instead or to keep an eye out for, eh.

And only the most ignorant child thinks that the strongest person in the world doesn't still need someone to guard their back.

You can stop trying to lecture me. All letting the other crews know that Grell was gone would do is make us a target. [sucking her teeth, she nearly growls.]

i know there's nothing we can do about people disappearing but getting on someone's case for being upset about it isn't going to help
if you complain about people whining they're just going to whine louder

Then figure out how to stop wasting time.

But, ah. To do that, you'd have to examine the past and alter your conduct accordingly. So, it seems, if you hold to your self-professed way of thinking, you're stuck doing exactly what you have been.

No one's dead, no. It cost us an arm and a leg to get the ship repaired.

[Which happens to be the thing that pisses her off the most. All that treasure that the crew found, and most of it had to go towards making sure the ship was back at 100%.]

Talk to Grell. We probably couldn't replace a lot of her junk that got wrecked.

You do realize it's possible for someone to change without dwelling too much on previous events, right? I don't need to look back at a gaping void in my head to determine what I need to do tomorrow.
