5th Course [Written // Voice // Action for Spade Pirates]

Don't forget lots of citrus in the next port. Last place didn't have much. Scurvy is not an option.
Birds need more variety. Running low on fruit in general, and only so many ways to prepare vegetables and bread.
Use last of calf guts for chum. Starting to show sig
[Voice/Action]
[Zeff abandons the journal mid-word once his little crew has gathered, forgetting to close it so people can overhear the old chef railing at them.]
[He's mighty displeased at the moment as he stands in front of the galley crew of the Moon. It's obvious that he's trying to hold off on the kicking heads in due to there being so many ladies in the galley this month. (He suspects this was on purpose to prevent concussions.) He holds up a cast iron skillet which is now partially rusted.]
I found this soaking in the dish water. For the last damn time, the cast iron doesn't get soaked or soaped! The damn surface is ruined, and we'll have to sand off the rest and re-season it before we can cook with the shitty thing. Even better, we're going to have to re-work what's being served since we can't use it until that's been done!
[He smacks the skillet down on the counter, glaring at his galley crew. If he ever finds out who's responsible, it's going to either be a scathing lecture or a swift kick to the skull.]
Today's kitchen assignments are going to be shuffled around to compensate. If you don't like where you're at, deal with it.

[It seemed a lot easier than being lectured like this.]

Same damn problem: We'd have to season the new one and couldn't use it until we did. The only damn difference would be no rust to scrape off. Taking care of the tools is just as important as taking care of the food.
You got a problem with working in the galley, talk to the shitty captain to keep you off of galley rotation.

I don't have a problem. [Though she doesn't like being talked to like this.] It was a suggestion, that's all.

You take care of your weapons before and after you go out on the battlefield. In here, you treat the equipment with the same respect. Get it?
no subject
So do you have any idea who did it?

Anything I can do to help? Such as convincing our captain that the next island has more meat than peanuts?

Leanne, I want you to go check the water barrels to see how much fresh water we have on hand. Also check the barrels for any rot.
Re: [Action]
Yes chef! Is there anything else I can do?

I use up what I don't preserve first and then I'll use the preserves and pickled citrus in various recipes. If properly stored, just one jar of either can last up to a year.

[Asking out of curiosity.]
Hmm - I haven't made jam for my crew yet. Perhaps I should.
voice;
It's why I prefer buying citrus in bulk. That way I can store that all up for in case there isn't any of it available on whatever island we've landed on.
voice;
Why don't you just buy vitamin C, though? If that's what you're after.

Action
[Ace didn't look guilty, so it probably wasn't him. That or he probably fell asleep and it fell in the water or something.
Either way, he'd definitely fix it!]

[Ala, Ace would just blow things up most times. Especially in Davy Jones' world, Ace had gotten plenty of practice maintaining a constant temperature.]
Right now-- [Ace held up his right hand, each fingertip creating a different colored flame.] -- I'm that good.
