Hm... I don't know much about that, maybe because I haven't had a lot of friends. I did have one friend I liked a lot. [He was reluctant to use the word love. That would sound weird] He almost died during attempts to help me out more than once... I would've done the same for him. I don't know if I can say I felt as strongly about him as a romanic partner, though... I don't don't really know jack about how close people usually are to their families.
