Since I promised Young Link of the Sabers a little meet up.

What:Ghost Race Tail Gate and Beach Party
Who:People who know not to burn down bars.
When:July 4th 4 pm
Where: Beach east of the port.

Bringing Dessert is recommended.
RSVP via this post by July 3rd for a decent headcount.

Elissa, someone burnt down something to spite her.

What exactly is a 'tail gate and beach party' that you're concerned people will burn down bars?

A long tradition for sporting events is to just pull up in your vehicle and start a party right we're your parked. They won't let us take over the dock so I had to move it to the beach.

It's the people who did the burning we've got a problem with. I feel killing members of a particular crew would ruin the evening. [He'd be quicker on the draw than Elissa and he's attempting to find something to cheer her up.] I know of at least two places where destroying a Bar is a lynch-able offence. One of them's on this planet.

We to talk about what we're going to do about the committee.

I see. I don't care for parties, but I want to know how the committee will work now. I'll attend.

We'll keep things low key we do have an early race time.

[He returns to this after some time, remembering belatedly:]

Is a dessert required?

It would just be nice if you did. [Proper manners for a party.]

[Nice isn't really Sasuke's concern, but he doesn't want to have candy be a reason to stall useful discussion, either. There's probably still some of Draco's wizard candy left in the galley.]

Is there a particular type of dessert you would want?

The more chocolate it it the better. We've got someone on the crew who could use some cheering up.

I guess I can find something like that, or make it.

I was thinking more along the lines of getting a grill and cooking on the beach.

Who would be doing the grilling though?

[She isn't sure if that would count as her job or not since it's not on the ship.]

I think you should have put down islands in general if one can recall the time before the whole bar burning thing.

True, but then again we don't know then well enough to be certain, but I guess so long as you don't do anything recent it's fine.

[An extremely testy Elissa replies to Harlock.]

Tis bad enough that you saw fit to enter us into this senseless race when there is so much to be done, but now you wish to have a party?

[Oh he was not looking forward to this. Elissa was a demon when mad but... it wouldn't be very honorable to allow Captain Harlock to shoulder all of the blame for this. ]

Captain Harlock made the suggestion to enter the race, which the others seconded, but I was the one to sign the ship up for it.

[The party was still 100% on Harlock though!]

[Rather than responding in sudden anger, Elissa, instead, got very quiet. It took her a moment to reply.]

What others? When?

[Her mood was not improving to realize there had been some sort of meeting that she'd missed.]

[That silence might actually have been worse...]

It was only an informal conversation, nothing to trouble the entire crew with.

[So she wasn't the only one who had not been there.]

[... Deep sigh. Was this news being taken well or...?]

Yes. Some one needed to fill out the forms.

She gave no other response before she simply closed her journal.]

I promised young Link we'd have another get together before everything went down. [That was the simple part. He just doesn't go back on his word no matter how simple or trivial.]

Just because we're having a party doesn't mean I've forgotten.

As for the race there's a shard at stake, you expect them not to enter? [They all have lives to go back to.]

I do not feel like participating in a party.

Would it not make more sense to wait for the Roses at the race's end? This race is supposed to be treacherous and you will need all hands on deck.

Well you'll be finding your own dinner then. It's likely only going to be a few people.

I'm not hanging around port chance for a month waiting to see if they come back.

We don't even know where they'll send us. [Truth be told they have a very small set of islands they seem to hang around. Nice opportunity to scout out places for their little "rum running" operation.]

I assume the party to be an attempt to lighten the dark mood that has settled in on ship but it might have been in poor taste.

That's similar to how my friend would have worded things.
[Harlock should really know by now Tochiro has a horrible sense of humor.]

The idea was brought up before this happened. Though I'm now out a party planner.

I did figure we could talk face to face with what's left of the committee. Most of the crews are around for the race.

Unfortunately, Elissa is not in much shape to bake her infamous cookies.

Sad to say that almost seemed pointless at this moment. There were just so many heartless people here that it drove even those already jaded to human nature towards despair.

But, the Committee might be the best chance to establish some order here and Haytham was not one to just give up.]

Very well. I will put in an appearance if only to meet with the Committee. An organization for good is sorely overdue.

If the actual military people among us are going to do nothing. [Out of all this that's the part the infuriates him the most.] That leaves it to us.

It is quite refreshing to hear that some one understands that. I've had too many conversations of late where the counter stance was taken, they see nothing wrong at all with the death and destruction.

I'm just sorry Ellisa can't see any advantage to competing in the race.

Maybe she will come around once she has time to calm down.

She'll just... also leave off mentioning her birthday. Not really that important here.]

What? [He tries to remember if they'res any importance to the date itself. It's around a millennium ago and he's German.]

At this point I'm not sure how much of a party it will be.
