[Well, it was finally out in the open.

Although Ratonhnhaké:ton had not gone to great lengths to hide the truth from his father there had been a few occasions where he had omitted certain details. He had wanted to get closer to Haytham in order to let him see through example that his way of thinking was wrong- but there had not been an incident that led itself easily to teaching this lesson.

If he had to he would kill his father- he'd done so before... but like that time Haytham would return. Just as disconcertingly, Haytham was already trying to build a new Order.. something that could not be allowed]

I have another question to ask of you.

[A slight pause as if he was questioning if he should continue or not]

If you were faced with someone who is hardheaded, willful and stubborn.. [All the "compliments" betrayed the fact that Ratonhnhaké:ton was severely annoyed] yet it was imperative that you try and convince them to change their opinion on something... what course of action would you take?

It would depend on how imperative the matter was, and if all options had been pursued. I suppose if left with little choice dispatching them would be the solution. There are times when such a thing is the only option.

No, I'm suggesting discipline. [ judging him for going that far... even if that's probably a normal response. ] It's not my problem if you're the type who can't control himself to the point that it counts as torture. [ Normal, non-von Karma people would usually consider it torture though. ]

It would be difficult thinking on a method of discipline that he would respond to.. [Since he could strike back, and pull that "I'm the father I should be disciplining you" garbage.. it was just.. awkward.]

That is true... that adds a bit of an issue. Similar options of that vein would simply be monstrously cruel.

I am not one that does well with convincing difficult people otherwise. My lord was one with a silver tongue however, and could woo just about anyone to their means with simple conversation. Alas they are not here.

I could ask you the same question. I think I will start by pointing out the chaos unrestrained freedom has wrought upon the citizenry. Surely you can see now that there needs to be some form of Order just to protect those who lack the means to protect themselves?

Then we are not dissimilar. Words often fail me, whereas my opposition wields them as deftly as a sword. I often let my actions speak for me. I am at a disadvantage here.
