[ Look, there's that old-fashioned and sort-of neat handwriting belonging to Dantalion. Except today, he doesn't mention Solomon, or the demons that he might usually talk of. To be honest, he doesn't even seem to get that he's writing where everyone can see. ]

It I don't get back soon and get that firewood, father is going to really upset. Mother is going to be really worried and angry if I don't, too. The water doesn't get itself from the well.

What the hell is up with this, anyway? Tiny people and pirate ships - what even are pirates? - and why am I at sea? I haven't been on sea even once, I would remember going.

Why are you writing in my book? How? Are you a ghost?

I'm not writing in your book, I'm writing in my own. This is a form of communication between ships that takes the form of this journal.

So I can assure you I'm not a ghost, I'm perfectly human. I'm just on another ship.

Seriously. This sucks.

It does, but not much you can do about it except do what we are suppose to do.

Let's just say you'll probably stay here forever if you don't, or until Davy Jones gets bored, but that is unpredictable at best.

Forever isn't that long. Who is Davy Jones?

Davy Jones is the one who brought us here to find something. It's a something that will help us get home.

How annoying. Couldn't that person just leave us be?

You would think that wouldn't you? While he had left us alone after bringing us here, we still can't get home until we do what he wants, or he gets bored.
