ACE! SABO! I'VE BEEN KIDNAPPED BY PIRATES! WHAT DO I DO?!!

[cackles.]

Nami's not an it...I dare you to call her that.

Oh okay where is she? [he wants to find her right away]

Around here somewhere.

[scanning the deck from way up here. Nope, not immediately visible. She might be in the galley or women's cabin. But she's around, he knows.]

Let's go down and find her.

Okay. [yay going on adventure time! And then he realizes Zoro knows her] Is she your friend?

Nakama.

[that should be explanation enough, as he hunts around.]

[stares at him. He has nakama of his own already! And he's going to be a swordsman! That's so cool!

Okay! To be his captain and the Pirate King, Luffy has to be even cooler! Somehow]

Yosh, she'll be mine, too. [that's the first step] What's she like?

Scary. Don't piss her off or she'll hit you.

shishishi Ace, too. [he likes her already. Though now that they're down in the hold he discovers a box half covered with a tarp and with writing on it and reads it carefully]

Aaace's speciall drink. Ehh? [happily pulls the tarp away to see bottles] So cool! I wonder what kinda drink?!

[oh god no NO NO! ABORT MISSION!

Throws himself on top of the box of bottles]

Don't! It's...it's gross! See? Why would it be down here in the hold if it was good? Wouldn't it be in the kitchen?

I don't care if it's gross! It's Ace's!

[grabs Zoro by the ankles and attempts to pull him off]

I wanna try one!

[clinging like his life depends on it, because it probably does]

I'm not gonna let you! You're gonna get sick! And then you're gonna have nightmares again and it's gonna be even worse this time! You don't wanna have bad dreams, do you?

DON'T SAY BAD STUFF ABOUT ACE'S DRINK!

[pulls hard! So hard that when Zoro pulls free and knocks into him sending them both sprawling, the crate gets knocked over, too, sending all the bottles smashing to bits]

[he didn't mean to smash things, but really, this is probably for the best. Only now Zoro is panting hard, and the sticky-sweet drink is pooling on the wood, threatening to soak them both]

Sorry, Luffy, but I didn't want you to have nightmares again. [or break the ship]

Ace's drink...

[noooo. He pulls his hat down over his head and squats where he is. It was special and now it's all broken]

I WANNA SEE ACE!

[awww, no. He didn't mean to do that!

Zoro shifts to sit cross-legged next to him. He never had siblings, he doesn't know how to do this]

Oi, oi. No crying. C'mon. Do you know where you left your book? You can use that to talk to Ace. Maybe if he's okay he can come and visit us.

I already c-called him. [tears tears. sniff. Wipes at snot. but...

he gets a little calmer cuz... this is sort of new. This kid... Z...Zoro was nice. Like Sabo, but not. He rubs at his eye with a hand and sniffs]

Zoro cares if I get nightmares?

Then stop crying. He'll call back if he can.

[huff] Course I do. [even if he missed the last round, he did catch the aftermath]

[creaks over cautiously and rests his head on Zoro's shoulder, still sniffing a bit. And then after a while]

Let's hide so we don't hafta clean it up.

[he still wants to keep the box though]

C'mon. We can hide in the men's cabin.

[all the blanket piles and hidey places!]

[he nods. But first navigates the glass and spilled stuff to grab the box and take it with them]
