[Maribelle wants to by sympathetic because she's just as scared, and it seems a lot of children have also been kidnapped. However she's feeling slightly fed up with everyone losing their heads and panicking, even if they are younger than her!]

N-now calm down! I'm scared too, but we can't panic, or we'll never find a way out of this! Umm... sorry, I'm Maribelle... what's your name?

[She goes to let out a half sob.]

But.... But mommy was just with me.....

[A whimper.] Leanne... My name is Leanne, daughter of Queen Serenes.

Wait... you mean... you're a princess?!

[Maribelle is seeing the connection now.]

Those fiends! They must be kidnapping all the noble children they can get their hands on for a mass ransom! They may have used magic to kidnap you without you knowing it... where are you now Leanne?

[He smells the remnants of smoke before he hears her, really. And his first instinct is to think a kid set fire to the ship already, and wouldn't that put everyone out of their damn misery.

Then he hears the chirping. And a tiny voice. And he starts silently hoping this isn't what, deep down, he knows it is.

He stops just short of where he believes she's hiding and bends down a little, speaking softly just in case he's mistaken.] Anyone there?

[There is no such things as dukes in the Laguz world but she goes to nod her head even though Maribelle cannot see it.]

I-I am. Magic? But Mommy and Serenes would have sensed such a thing... I don't know where.... I don't know what I am on but I am hiding.

[Leanne is just gonna hold her breath when she hears Naesala and then smells his scent. She goes to keep as still as possible even when he speaks. But... His scent is familiar or at least is familiar to a certain family of ravens she knows.]

I-I-I am... [More scared chirping as she stays put.]

You mean you're a princess and you don't know what a duke is?

[Well that made Maribelle feel a bit small. Sure she wasn't a noble as a princess but come on!]

Well... my father is one of the Kings closest friends, and I'm his daughter... so I'm a form of nobility. That's besides the point though, as long as you are safe at the moment, try to avoid anyone who looks or acts overly suspicious! I don't want to see any of us getting kidnapped again if our kidnappers have managed to lose us.

[She wants to to hug Leanne, but she doesn't even know where she herself is! Then there's the fact that Leanne is probably younger than her and wasn't forced to memorize a dictionary of vocabulary at such a young age. You have to prove yourself a lot more when you're a lesser house noble than the daughter of the king himself.]

I... I don't know where your mother is right now... I don't know where my papa is either. Umm... if anyone does anything scary, or says they want you to come with them and eat candy! That's suspicious behav-err... stuff that low life ruffi-bad guys are known to try to trick innocent young girls with!

But we are not in Serenes and I can't find Momma anywhere. Do you know where Momma is? How do you know that no one will hurt me?

[But her frown soon turns into a smile as she explains her cleverness]

I'm super safe right now though, because I escaped and the royal knights must have found out I'm missing because I think one of them is already coming to get me. I'm still staying in hiding until I know for sure, but they should help me against the pirates and bad guys.

If you find a bad guy, try to either run, or hide! Especially in small places they're too big or fat to fit into! I'm gonna try to find a way to come rescue you Leanne!

[Because as a noble it is her duty to help protect those who are above her station.]

[Ah, yep. That's really Leanne, looking the exact same as the last time he'd seen her before...that night. He doesn't even know if she recognizes him.]

Momma.... Momma was carrying me with my sisters. She looked worried and scared, but she kept on singing in my ear, trying to hide my eyes and ears. There was so much screaming and the smell of fire everywhere...

[Naesala gently hefts her up as he stands, holding her steady in his arms.]

That's right. If you're with me, you're safe. [He starts walking away from her hiding spot, intent on getting them out into the open on deck. He always feels caged inside the confines of the ship, and it's probably a good idea for Leanne to get fresh air.] We'll look all over for her. Inside, outside; to the top of the sky, if we have to.
