[text/voice] - Request and Apology
[There's something that Codi's been neglecting this week and she's not looking forward to doing any time soon. So when she sits down with her journal, she thinks of every possible other alternative to getting it over with--and comes up with a wanted add, instead. She writes it neatly to get her hands warmed up for the inevitable.]
WANTED:
Crew or individuals, willing and able, to stay on Empieza this week to greet and hand out welcome flyers to new arrivals, courtesy of the Welcome Committee. If a crew is willing to allow use of their Nav for someone else, but can't spare a crewmember themselves, that would also be appreciated. Payment can be arranged on request.
--Captain Dakota Perkins, Welcome Committee
[voice] - locked to Scurvey Dog and Grell Sutcliff
[The next message, Codi writes on a separate sheet of paper first. Several times. Actually quite a lot--and none of them really seem to work. After almost half an hour of frustrated writes and re-writes and crumpling of blotchy parchment for the raptors to chew on, Codi finally gives up and just talks at her journal instead.]
Scurvey Dog--with Captain Grell the Red as my witness--I need to apologize for my behavior the past couple of weeks. It was pretty stupid of me to think that the stunt I pulled would be funny to anyone but myself--and honestly, with how much shit my crew had to put up with, the laughs I got weren't worth it. I'm going to start taking this position more seriously for their sake, if no one else's.
I doubt you're going to see this because, you know, between all the other...omniscient pirate junk you keep shouting about, I'm guessing you can't be bothered. But you can't say that I don't regret what I did.
[She quickly scribbles her name, then scoots the journal away to go distract herself with other things.]

Is this something you can do regularly?

Are you fucking kidding me?No.
I hate recruiting.
Which still means I've actually done so in the past more than a lot of the kids here, I guess.

As long as you're able, I won't turn you down! If you keep the island from burning down again, you'll have done a good job.

That was the idea. Never said it was a good one...

I like having a little fun every once in a while! If it means I stir things up a little bit, I'm usually okay with that. It's just a matter of getting everyone else on board that's the problem.

[But maybe she knew that? Hm... it was difficult to say.]

So I've been told. It doesn't matter anymore--the whole thing's been sorted out. I have this under control.
