What if you didn't have to hide who you were? Cut a space in a shirt for your fin? It's nice to see a handsome gent in a nicely cut suit.

*She chuckled a little and looked down at his legs with a raised brow*

Are your legs... are they like human legs? Or...?

*After all, there could just be big long fins under there, but he'd seemed pretty stable*

You'd rather roam around naked if you could, hmm?

Shame you weren't socialising. You could have made some friends.

I guess I could do that... [Afterall his pants were like those made for humans... he just cut a hole where his tail came through] Oh, my legs? They're mostly human... [He stood up to show her. Without warning, he undid his belt and dropped his pants. Luckily though, he was wearing some black, slick swimming shorts underneath]

[She'd see his legs- like he said, they were mostly human shaped but of course with shark skin. Also, he had a couple of small triangular fins on the outsides of his shins]

If I could roam around naked, at least it would be easier to jump in the water and not worry about clothes. Some species of aquarians have nothing to hide and can go naked if they prefer... I'm not like them, though.

[He shrugged about the socializing] I wasn't feeling very social at the time. [He usually didn't feel very social, but was starting to feel a little more comfortable with it thanks to Faye]

*Faye had sat back a moment when he stood up and started undoing his belt - it was quite a brazen move for someone who had seemed so shy, and she was concerned for a moment of what exactly he was about to show her! But her eyes were on his legs at least, nodding in agreement of how relatively human they were*

Nothing to hide? These aquarians don't have - *She paused, glancing up at Thash and not really sure of exactly what language to use that he would understand* - you mean, they're missing somewhat more...seemingly human...anatomy?

*Mostly, Faye was concerned about how he'd react if she'd just blurted out - you mean aquarians don't have dicks?!*

That's fair enough. I'd be a hypocrit if I told you to go out there and surround yourself with friends. Though I've heard that's a nice thing to do.

[Thash tilted his head, trying to think of how to describe it] Well, for all species of aquarians, their anatomy down there is a little different from humans. They're more like, uh...do you know what claspers are on sharks? They're kinda like that. For the types of aquarians with legs, they have to wear some kind of clothes on their bottom halfs. But for types of aquarians with only fins below their waist, their reproductive parts are kept inside their bodies until they're ready to use them... or so I've been told, anyway.

[He started putting his pants back on] As for me, I guess I must have gotten that part of myself from humans, because it's pretty different from claspers...[Here's where he got a little shy, not going into any more detail than that]

[As for the friends thing, Thash shook his head a bit] I don't make friends very easily, I guess. There's still members of this crew I haven't spoken to even once. I guess I should fix that... old habits die hard, but at least I know from meeting you that I don't have to expect the worst all the time. [He gave her a small smile after he finished fastening his belt]

*Probably reasonably insensitive, but Faye can't help but pull a face as he describes various genitalia. She just didn't like the sound of any of that, and didn't especially like picturing it either. She did raise a brow and smirk when he mentioned about his own, more human anatomy, watching as he put his pants back on*

Good job you were wearing those shorts then, or you might have someone's eye out.

*Then she reached back over to grab a pack of cigarettes and her matches before sitting back down on the floor* Some people here I haven't spoken to either. Haven't had the need to. No point getting into conversations all for nothing.

*She smiled back at him and gave a short laugh, lighting up a cigarette*

And what if I'm the best the ship has to offer?

[he gave a sort of nervous chuckle at her eye comment...sort of embarrassed but sort of amused too] wouldn't want that...

And yeah, that's exactly why I haven't spoken to most of them. No need, and I've never really come close enough to them that it's awkward not to talk. Heh...maybe you are the best the ship has to offer as far as company...even strider, the guy responsible for me being here, doesn't seem to talk much sometimes.

*Faye moved slightly away from Thash, knowing he didn't like the smoke, and blowing it the other way*

Hm... I've spoken to Grell, and she gave me a bed, Strider is...interesting, Bonnie is adorable,and Arthur's fun to tease. I suppose that's who I've spoken to. And it's fine. I guess. People allow everyone to have their own space round here. No one's forcing me to do anything, so I'll get by.

[Thash noticed her directing the smoke away from him and smiled in appreciation, sitting next to her] yeah, if I have to be on a crew at least it's one that doesn't force socialization. I haven't spoken to Bonnie...is she the kid? But besides Strider and Grell, I did speak with Arthur as well as some demon guy that didn't tell me his name...

Bonnie's the little girl, yeah. She's gonna grow up to be a cracker of a woman.

*Faye smirked to herself as she blew out a small smoke ring then winked at Thash*

Men will need to watch out with that one running around.

*But at a mention of a demon guy, Faye pulled a face, cigarette dangling on her lip*

What?! There are creepy demons round here? What?!

[Thash had no idea what she meant by a cracker of a woman, but Faye's wink and her next comment made it clearer for him. He had to chuckle a bit when he saw Faye's reaction to a demon's presence]

No, he's not creepy. Not to me, anyway. He looks mostly like a human, except his pointy ears. And from what I saw, he's good with magic.

Magic? What the hell is this? A fucking fairy tale?!

*Faye took a couple of quick drags on her cigarette then snuffed it out hard on a small red ash tray*

I mean, a werewolf and a shark guy, that was crazy enough. But people doing magic? Demons? That's weird. Even Akira's too freaked out to stay.

*She rubbed her hands down her face, then grabbed a pack of mints, popping one in her mouth, then tossing the packet over to Thash*

This place is some kinda freakshow.

...I'm guessing magic doesn't exist in your world? It was pretty common in mine. Even Zace could use magic. I can't though...at least that I know of.

[He caught the packet of mints, and sniffed it. His nose wrinkled a bit, but he looked more curious than disgusted] What are these...?

[When she said the word freakshow he kinda frowned a little, then looked back down at the mint packet in his hands. He was used to thinking of himself as a freak, but poeple who called him that or said be belonged in a freakshow were of course generally insulting]

Well, at least most of the crew looks human. Though Grell and Arthur aren't... they may look it, but they smell waaay different than humans. I don't know what they are.

Nope. Unless you were in some kind of kids' cartoon.

*She blinked at his question, amazed that a world with magic wouldn't have something like mints*

Mints. They're refreshing. Makes your mouth feel and smell nice. Try one.

*It is like Fayr to speak her mind and not think about or care about the consequences. But when she saw the way Thash looked at her freakshow comments, she softened her expression and her voice*

That's what Akira said too. But, then again, even Grell isn't the most human-looking human I've ever met.

[his world had mints, just not in the ocean where he spent the majority of his time]

Oh... [he took one out and put it in his mouth, looking a little surprised by the cooling sensation] whoa, weird....[after a moment he seemed to like it, though. He tossed the packet back to her]

True...I was a little surprised to see her sharp teeth when I first met her.

*Faye watched his reaction to eating the mint with an amused smile, and caught the packet back in her hand*

Hmm. What is she then? Not a shark lady, hmm?

*She stretched her arms up above her head and arched her back, surpressing a yawn*

Guess she kisses with no problems with her sharky teeth...

No, she doesn't smell like a shark or anything even close to it. This is going to sound strange but... She doesn't smell like any living thing I've ever smelled. She's got a faint scent of death about her, though. Maybe that's part of what set Akira on edge.

[he chuckled and shrugged about the kissing problem] I dunno I've never seen her kiss anyone. Though, she doesn't seem like the type of person that would get to this point in her life without kissing someone, so you're probably right.

Eh? You're saying that Grell is dead? That she stinks like a dead thing?

*Because, really, Faye hadn't noticed anything untoward about how Grell smells. She rather liked that she had a captain that took a pride in her appearance*

Your Strider friend still has his lips, doesn't he? Grell hasn't chewed them off by mistake.

*But she laughed a little at the way he had described her*

Kissing, Thash, and then some.

I wouldn't say she stinks like a dead thing...like I said, the smell of death is faint. As for th ret of her smell, I have no idea what it is.

[he chuckled a bit when Faye mentioned Grell with Strider] oh, I knew he liked her, I just haven't seen them together, heh. Well, if she knows how to be careful with sharp teeth, at least it can be done.

So, if your smell is so good, what do I smell like? Apart from smoke, that is?

*Just ignoring the weird stuff about Grell having a whiff of death around her. And whatever it is Thash can't identify*

I don't make it my habit to watch them either. But there you are, just goes to show you you can make out with all the girls you want and it shouldn't be a problem.

[he laughed a bit at the making out comment] I guess so...how do you smell? Uhhmm...[he stepped closer to Faye, sniffing the air a bit] well, you smell like human, but it's faint and pleasant right now probably because you just cleaned yourself. I also smell some kind of flower.., are you wearing perfume or did you use a scented soap?

*She blinked as he sniffed, because maybe that was a little bit weird. But she managed to smile anyway* That'd be cause I've just had a bath. But there's perfume here too. *She picked up a bottle and sprayed it lightly against her neck* What do you think of the perfume?

Hmm...[he watched her spray it against her neck, and a few seconds later he sneezed and coughed a couple of times] wow! That stuff is really strong when you first spray it...whew, once it's dispersed though, it smells very nice.

*Faye glanced at him then, pulling a face at first but soon laughing at him*

Okay, okay. Sorry. It's supposed to be alluring.

*She looked at the bottle, then put it back down*

Maybe it is, if you aren't a shark...

Well, it smells good now. It's just then when it first came out it was so concentrated it was a little overpowering...[he glanced at the bottle too, wondering how someone could fit so much smell into such a tiny bottle]

*Faye waved her hands around between them to spread the scent around some more, and shrugged some*

Yeah, well, least it isn't offensive to your sensitive shark senses.
