Just a few weeks. Yeah. I can do this. No problem...

[Shipmates, feel free to find the poor guy sprawled out by the table in the galley. Unfortunately, don't expect much response from him over the journal. Someone's going through sugar withdrawal.]

[Shipmates, feel free to find the poor guy sprawled out by the table in the galley. Unfortunately, don't expect much response from him over the journal. Someone's going through sugar withdrawal.]
[Voice] Better late than never! :D
[Don't think it hasn't occurred to him how pathetic it sounds, but it's another thing entirely when you're feeling it.]
S-sure seems like... It's possible, right..?
[Voice] Awesome ^_^
For anyone else Gaius I would say it was most definitely impossible, but for you? I can't even remember a time when we couldn't shake you and have candies fall out of every nook and cranny. What possibly possessed you to give up sweets for that lengthy of a period? Did you lose at gambling? Perhaps get caught doing something you shouldn't have and this is your punishment?
[Voice]
[...yeah, thinking about that isn't helping for his lack of sugar, huh. His voice is a little muffled for the moment that he rests his forehead against the table again.]
...anyway, i-it's nothing like that. We're bound for that island of candy...but as part of the deal I made, I can't have any sweets until we get there.
[Voice]
[She's pat his head if she were there, but... since she isn't there's a bit of melodious laughter at his expense.]
Oh? I thought you'd swim your way there if your crew wouldn't take you quite honestly. So you made this deal with your captain then? It's a shame too, I was going to try to find a way to send you over a dozen sweets that I'd picked up on the island.
[Then she remembers a different gift she'd had for him.]
By the way, I also wrote some extensive notes on the island specifically for you, since I thought the place was probably your idea of heaven. Just a little guide I made of which sweets I personally thought were the tastiest, levels of juiciness for certain pastries growing on trees, textures, which candies I think should be avoided, and many more notes. Half of the things I made notations on you might not even find, but I thought it might be fun for you to hunt down some of these candies while you were there.
[Don't mind Maribelle, she's just going to casually and unwittingly torture Gaius with talk of candy.]
[Voice] btw, I'm sending him off to get updated to ch 20 come next month. As a dread fighter. 8]
[He's totally making a face on this side. Torture as it is, there's still an important detail that sticks out in his mind from the whole thing.]
-wait. You knew about this place the entire time and never mentioned it to me before?
[Voice] Sounds sexy >:3
[Well that's curious... She remembers speaking with Cynthia but she hadn't realized they'd gotten so... chummy.
Totally not jealous, nope, nope, nope!]You mean you didn't know!? I've known this place might exist since... well pretty much from the very beginning, but I couldn't believe it until I actually laid eyes on it myself. How long ago did you learn about it?
[Voice] <.<;
[Maribelle, they're on a crew together. How could they not be "chummy?"]
I only heard about it like last month! You mean you've been holding out on me, Twinkles?
[Voice] ... >_> I mean um... dandy?
[Ohoho~ too true, too true.
There's a fine line between mere crew friendship, and a woman capable of getting Gaius to give up sweets! Clearly she is a threat!]In my defense Gaius, I only visited the island about a month or so ago. [Or time has been flying past her much more quickly than she thought.] I wouldn't want to get your hopes up about a mystical candy island that might not exist, just to have you chasing the ends of the world in hopes of finding a fantasy. Besides, a woman has to keep some secrets, don't you agree?
[In other words, she may have been saving it for bribe material some day.]
[Voice]
[
Oh gods]That's still plenty of time to have said something!
[He sighs, and there's another subtle thud as he flops against the table again.]
Secrets, huh.
[Voice]
[
Don't mind Maribelle, she's just slightly posssesive of her friends >>]Surely you have secrets of your own that you've kept from me Gaius. It's not as if you'd like to disclose every single detail of your past to me before you broke into the royal treasury.
[Voice]
[Grumble.]
Oh come on, that's completely different and you know it.
[Voice]
[Voice]
...'m not in the mood for this.
[Voice]
I do rather pity you like this Gaius, but I have no intention of being party to swaying you to give up your commitment to cut back on sweets. While I have you on the journal here, I have been meaning to ask you a question about our world, since you seem desirous of a topic change.
[Voice]
[Voice]
[Voice]
...after we stormed Plegia and took down Gangrel.
[Voice]
......
Then you've never met Brady before he came here have you? For that matter... you don't even know who Brady's father is do you?
[Voice]
Here's the only place I've spoken to him. He told me he popped in from the future because there was a big mess, so they needed to make sure it didn't happen in our time. He only mentioned you were his mother.
[Voice]
... So it never bothered you that... you theoretically could be the father without knowing it?
[Voice]
...but the Exalt still died...
......
...I hadn't considered that...
[Voice]
... Yes... but apparently that was because our children from the future weren't the only ones who stepped through time to change the course of events.
...
......
You mean the thought never even occurred to you?!
[Voice]
[He cringes, but moving away from the journal would take more effort.]
W-well no..! Should it have? If it were something like that, wouldn't it be something Brady should have mentioned from the start??
[Voice]
[Maribelle is just rubbing her temples, trying to ease the headache this is all causing her.]
I wouldn't be so sure Gaius, he might be trying to make sure not to upset the delicate balance of time and space, changing the future could endanger his entire existence for all we know, and could make it so he was never born. It's possible if you are his father he wouldn't want to tell you in case knowing might change the future.
[Maribelle lets out a long sigh.]
To be honest though... I don't know who Brady's father is either. I remember Brady... I remember Brady having a father but... it's as if those pieces of my memory were taken from me.
[Voice]
[Falling silent again, he listens and supposes that does make sense. But even so, if that was a possibility...
Ugh. This is giving him a headache too, not that one hasn't been impending already from his lack of sugar.]
...so you're from a lot farther along than I am when it comes to things back home. Although I figured as much since you knew that Henry guy and I didn't, but I wasn't sure just how far that was.
[It's kind of a weird thing to feel. Even with people from home that you know or should know, you could still kind of feel...alone, here.]
