5th rise of the phoenix ஜ Audio / Action for Spades possible
[The message comes at night, as he's wandering on the deck. He's not up for guard duty tonight, but he still can't sleep, even if now that island is at a good distance away from them, the effects it had on him haven't vanished. He's still too close to his boiling point, or maybe he's already boiling and it's just a matter of time before he explodes in a ball of fire, anger and hate. Sleeping isn't an option in this state and he knows it better than anyone else. While asleep he may not be able to control his Cosmo, or he may enter into a nightmare that finally tips him over the edge. He may fall into sleep deep enough that he won't be able to know where he is when he wakes up, if someone comes to wake him up he may attack them driven by instinct and the thirst for destruction and release. He may attack Ace if his game of musical beds leads him to his bed, and while he doubts it would cause lasting damage, he would prefer to not do that.
So he doesn't even try to sleep, instead he wanders around the ship and enjoys the silence of the night. Not everyone is asleep yet, but it's calm enough that it could seem so. Eventually, he hits the journals after finding something floating in the water and that he picks up.]
Anyone else thinks that sleep is overrated tonight?
[There's a short pause.]
Right, I almost forgot, we're in Easter period. If anyone wonders why there are eggs in places there shouldn't be or weren't before, it seems this place wants to celebrate that with us.
I found a golden egg floating besides the ship just now, or an egg painted with a gold like color at least. If memory serves well those things should be made of chocolate or actual hard boiled egg-
[There's a cracking sound as the egg's shell starts to break, causing Ikki to stop talking. A few seconds later the chirps of a little chick are heard.]
Or a fucking fluffy chick apparently. What the hell?
[That's definitively not what he expected.]

[Voice]
[Whatever Easter was. That question was going to come eventually]
[Voice]
[Except that would mostly serve to just have all the chicks in one place for when Ace wants to eat them.]
Right, Easter eggs.
[A soft clearing of his throat. When he speaks next it's pretty clear that this isn't just trivia knowledge for him.]
Traditionally, decorated eggs are given to celebrate Easter. They may just be colored eggs or actually have complex designs for the decorations. Eggs have always been considered a symbol of fertility and rebirth so it makes sense that they are used in this holiday.
[Voice]
[Just so Ace doesn't try to eat them. Then again, who is she kidding, he'd find them regardless.
Asami nods, when he puts it that way it makes much more sense...a little bit at least]
Why is that? Does the holiday celebrate maternity specifically?
[Voice]
[Because if she thinks so he wants to know why and if there's actually a method for that.]
No, it's on the other symbology of it. Easter is a Christian holiday that celebrates Jesu Christ's resurrection, basically his rebirth.
[Voice]
[And that says something about their captain.
That he's crazy]Christian? Jesus Christ? [Asami pauses, yeah she has no idea what those words mean. Well except that Jesus is suppose to be a person] I guess this explains why I've never heard of the holiday before.
[Voice]
[He chuckles slightly.]
Christianity is a religion back in my world, it's based on the teachings of Jesus Christ who was the Son of God and the savior of humanity. He took human form and died to clean humanity's sins and open the path to Heaven for them basically.
But yeah, I doubt your world has that, though I suppose the Avatar would be the closest thing to it.
[Voice]
[Asami laughs a little at that and then contemplates the explanation he gives to Christianity. The Avatar did have a few similarities....]
Yeah, it sounds like there are a couple of differences, but some of it does sound familiar in places too. I know the Avatar is rebirthed after the previous one dies in order to keep the cycle going and keep balance in the world.
[Voice]
[Because Ace will do it. It's more certain than death itself, if it's something edible, he will find it and eat it.]
As far as I know, Jesus Christ only resurrected, or was reborn, once, after that he ascended to Heaven. Though some say that if he's needed he will return once more to help humanity to not lose itself in the path to Heaven.
Then again Christianity, and the religion it comes from, have always been more about what comes after death than about the present.
[Something he clearly doesn't agree with.]
[Voice]
...I think I'll just keep an eye on it as much as possible.
Are you saying people focus more on preparing for death to reach Heaven than not?
[Because that's what it sounded like to her and she doesn't know what to think of that]
[Voice]
The people in my world are really funny like that. All of them act as if they are going to live forever, especially if the person is famous, it doesn't matter what they are famous for, they act as if they are vital for the world. Yet many religions, the things in which people have faith in, are more about death than live.
To put it simply, according to those religions, you're not alive for the sake of it or to enjoy yourself. You're alive to prove that you're a good soul, worthy of being in Paradise, Heaven or whatever it's called. It's not just about being a good person but about following the rules that those religions set. Heck, the religion Christianity comes from, basically says that people are alive in order to repent for the sins committed by the first humans. Christianity is only different because Jesus Christ's sacrifice was in order to clean and forgive said sins.
[The bitterness and sarcasm in his voice is undeniable, and it makes clear what his standing regarding those ideas is.]
Nowadays, however, most people don't care about religion until they are in their death beds or coming close to them. Though there are some that take it far too literal and try to impose it on others.
