[He's going to regret this later, but there's a bunch of excitedly high-pitched chirps like a bird singing a love song.]

[But FAR more embarrassing is the scribbles he makes into the journal:]

[And then in big bold colorful levels Marco makes sure to add:]

FREE FLOWER CROWNS FOR EVERYONE WHO SIGNS UP NOW.

[Yeah. He's kind of lost it.]

[Chandra shakes her head as he talks, putting up a hand.]

I don't know him. I don't know what happened. I know what I was told, and nothing more. [She looks back at him, completely serious.]

Heartless or not, hurt or not, I don't do well with people who've treated other people like that. Maybe you pushed him, maybe you didn't, that's not my problem. I'm not privy to all these things, and no offense but I'm really sure what to think.

[She leans her head back, looking up at the sky.]

I've never even seen the guy, and I've been here for months. Heh, I don't even know if I should care. None of this is really my problem. Selphie will get over it. She's young and into that mushy stuff. Those types always bounce back.

[She sniffs and shakes her head.]

Do I ever wonder how much of me is fire? The answer to that one is all of it. I'm not human. Not anymore.

[He shakes his head.] You're not all fire either.

Fire doesn't have will to channel it. It can only go where catches. Like flower seeds or sparks.

Your heiromancer, Gideon, he seems like he might believe that's all you are, but if you were, you wouldn't be here talking.

[She laughs again.]

Fire comes from mana. Mana comes from life. If I'm alive, then I'm fire.

[Pokes her head.] You've got will too.

You haven't used all the oxygen around you or even all of it of the island, eh?

There's still distinction between your fires and Ace's, and if the whole island was on fire, you could both use the fires, but until you made it your own, it wouldn't be.

Fire doesn't have to give it form, someone has to be the will for it, and other causes have to spark it. You have your own will. So you can spark just about any amount of it you want, but you also can choose not to burn what you want.

I...don't think I'm explaining this right, so forget it. Mana's...hard enough to explain to someone that can't see it.

[Flomps back in the sand on his arms.]
