When you pay attention your journal this day, the clear voice of young Maribelle rings out.

"Ahem! Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to formally introduce to you my son Brady. Say hello to everyone, Brady dear."

"... Tch. Hey. ... Y'know, I already said my piece when I first got here."

There's the sound of a parasol being bonked over Brady's head for his atrocious manners. "Yes dear, but we are formally introducing you to everyone!"

"Ow!" He groans, rubbing his head. After a sigh, he clears his throat. "... My name is Brady. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance."

"Very good. Now as I was saying, this is my son Brady, and today we are going to play for you a violin duet that I have trained him extensively for. Are you ready Brady?"

There's a bit of a pause. "Shouldn't we do something more important, like helpin' the captain, or checking on maps, or..." An even longer pause. You can almost hear the glare. "... Yes, Ma."

After some extra grumbling, the strings slowly start to play out. Despite the argument, the two are clearly talented, The performance is full of heart, passion, and dedication. As the last notes ring out...

"Nicely done, darling."

"... Thanks, Ma."

"And with that, I bid you adieu good people, until next time."

"... There's gunna be a next time?!"

Yeah, but... sometimes she thinks the dumbest things are so important. Like the fancy way of holdin' a tea cup, or penmanship, or dancin'...

It's all the little details that can help to divert much larger and more dangerous details. Suppose you didn't hold the tea cup the right way, ended up spilling boiling hot tea on an important magistrate, and causing an explosive war over the slight? Suppose you are trying to parley a treaty with a neighboring kingdom, but the cannot read your atrocious hand writing? A hope of everlasting peace between the two nations could be lost simply over a misunderstanding!

Besides Brady, even you must understand the value of dancing after seeing Olivia in battle? The way she moves with such grace can fill even the most soulless of warriors with hope to fight harder.

Yeah, I'm glad I did. To be honest, Vikings never really worried about any of that? Most of them, anyway...

Vikings? Are Vikings perhaps your nationality? I'm not certain if I'm entirely familiar with the term.

It is. It can be? I don't know, I sorta liken it to a lifestyle choice. You're not the first one who isn't familiar with it, so it's okay.

Oh, you know, we fight, sail, fight some more, display crude behavior because it's the norm. And we have recently integrated dragons into everyday life.

Ugh... no offense meant to you or your people, but you sound like a group of big hairy barbarians if I've ever heard of any. Not that I have anything particularly against big hairy barbarians... we're allies of a barbarian nation after all, and some of my closest companions are... barbarians.

Why must they be so crude, uncouth, and uncivilized though? It's as if all that muscle leaves no room left in their skulls for brains.

Well I wouldn't say you were completely wrong about that...

[Yeah, it was probably better they talked other stuff. He blinks.]

Uuh. The Hazardous Materials. Or the Booyashaka. I'm not even sure anymore, the name keeps changing every other week.

[Voice]

A crew that constantly changes their name... that must be... chaotic. Who else is in your crew then? Perhaps I can recognize it from the other members.

That's only the half of it. But the other guys over here are Raphael, Leonardo, Donatello, and Michelangelo – they're brothers. And then there's Gan Ning...and, um, Gaius. Toothless just about rounds out our little group.

[Voice]

Aha! I do know which crew you are referring to now! Gaius is a close friend of mine, formerly with the Shepherds crew before my untimely disappearance. Am I mistaken in assuming then that you also have Miss Cynthia in your crew? I believe she called herself a pokemon trainer.

[Voice]

Oh, good! I'm glad I don't have to go over that again. But you know Gaius? Huh. I think all he said was that he was in a crew before deciding to join ours...

Cynthia? Um...yeah! I just recently heard of that, too. For a small crew, news sure travels slowly.

Gaius and I have known each other much longer than simply from when he was in my crew. He and I have a rather... strange sort of friendship that started back in our own country of Ylisse. He isn't one for talking about his own history very much, so it's little wonder you might not have known about it.

Well do be certain to take care of her, mm? She seems like a very nice young lady, and I hate to think of someone like that alone with a bunch of teenage boys.

I figured as much. I also didn't really ask, so that's on me. It's good that you know him and have him as an ally, he's actually really resourceful.

Oh, um, yeah. We will. Hopefully. [Oh, gods, he didn't even think about how the odds were there.] Iii don't think Gaius and Gan Ning count as teenagers, though. Three adults. That should be okay, right?
