Don’t these people ever give it a rest?!

[So what if no one has any idea what you’re talking about]

You’d think they’d get tired of being so uptight all the time.

[Given that the only way Minako had managed to hold out on Isla Empieza this long was from a combination of keeping a low profile and utilizing her disguise power she was getting tired of upholding the charade]

Has anyone really ever threatened them before?

[She wasn’t here during that earlier debacle. This time, when the new influx of people came around, she was determined to either board a ship or get one of her own. ~~Sob, who could afford a ship, when you blew all your money on food and entertainment?~~]

Define threatened and tell us on what island. I think it would be easier to figure out that way because on some, I really would not be surprised.

The island is Empieza, and threatened means any situation where the locals might have felt like their lives or their livelihoods were in any kind of danger.

[She clarified quickly]

That is normal. Every month at a set time they kind of get like that. But it is for good reason considering some people [Sasuke.] thought it was a smart idea to burn there island. Cause s a lot of problems and not only blamed him, but everyone who helped.

Why do you think we always tell new arrivals to find a crew and get sailing after a set amount of time.

[There's that talk about the fire again] ... but that was months ago. No one has set any fires recently. [Frustrated Minako is frustrated] I get the impression that they'd be leery of us anyway...

You could have just needed the extra crew. [Exaggerate the unpleasantness of the island to convince unsuspecting youths to join your crew... it was possible- but apparently the island really was inhospitable]

Yeah, but they pretty much burn a large chunk of their town to the ground. Not sure they actually have finished rebuilding yet or not.

[She can honestly see why they would still be miffed about it, can't trust anyone after that even if they haven't done it in a long time.]

True and some people do since people do vanish here, but there is honestly not a lot one could do on the island even if we could.

The people living on Island Empieza on a regular basis.

They're not the easiest to deal with, but resorting to threats wouldn't really be a smart idea.

You said it yourself, they live there.

... Well. A crewman of mine lit a few of their buildings on fire.

Regardless, it is important to maintain good relations with them, or at least good as possible. It is, after all, the largest free port.

They could at least make an effort to get on good terms with us.. why do we have to do all the work?

We are not immigrants. We were never welcome here. We are simply forced into a situation, and they are under no obligation to be our hosts.

If you are speaking of the navy, there are a minimum of two incidents I can think of that would be cause for them to feel threatened. One was when an individual caused a great fire, the other was an instigation of war.

I am sure they have their reasons to feel as they do, it is simply our responsibility to avoid them as much as possible.

Or create reasons for them to avoid us.

When was that? How widespread was the fire?

[Minako really hasn't encountered the Navy yet, and they're even worse than the townspeople]

It was a few months ago, I am unsure of how widespread it was, however I was led to believe a good portion of the town was effected. I was at sea when it happened, so you would need to talk with those who were there for more details.

You couldn't tell by looking at it now.

[Yeah... maybbbbbbe if someone had set her house on fire she might have been a little peevish too.... but NOT EVERYONE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD HAD SET THEIR HOUSES ON FIRE!]

They should stop blaming everyone for one person's action..

They should, however it is only natural to suspect outsiders in such a way.

[Her message hadn't really garnered the sort of responses she had hoped for. Minako had wanted someone to relate to, someone to join in with her sentiments, not someone to defend the villagers and that's what most of them were doing.

No one here is used to venting, are they? Sure, Minako had a sympathetic side to her, and she wouldn't stand by if someone started bullying one of the townspeople in front of her but.. couldn't someone just take her side for a few minutes.....

It still isn't a very nice thing to do.

That is quite true, it is vexing especially since we are not here by choice. Though I find it uncomfortable to spend too much time in town, so avoid it as much as possible. Due to this I have not interacted with them more than what is required.

Sounds like you over stayed your welcome.

Judging by the antics of some crews in the past, [Spades] threatening or causing mayhem gets the Navy called in.

Half the marketplace was set on fire. They also consider those of us brought here to be pirates.

I still don't understand why they assumed that. We're not all talking in "arrs" and "Avasts me hardies" or toting around swords and peglegs. There's nothing about me that screams pirate.

The Mistress's original Captain would say sailing without a charter from a government was enough for them to say we're criminals.

I personally think for Navy it might just be the easiest way to keep people away from us and justify hunting us down. The less these people really know about us the easier it is for the Navy to turn us into scapegoats when needed. [Harlock knows form experience you get blamed for crazy things when your a pirate]

dunno if anybody would stop being uptight after the whole
life and death struggle between criminals and the law
cant shake the feeling that theyre tense for a non shitty reason

Who's a criminal? [Taking offense at getting lumped in with criminals there..] I'm an upstanding citizen of the community... well not this community but some community! [I'm a champion of justice for pete's sake! Maybe Sailor V could help change their minds about us...]
