[Some recent activities have brought a certain issue to the forefront of his mind.]

I have a question for all of you....

[There was a slight delay in his words]

If your crew were to gather all of the shards- what would you intend to do with them?

[Knowing all that they did now, it was possible that someone might try to use the power for ill-will. Not that anyone’s answers would alter Ratonhnhaké:ton’s plans. The shards, like Washington’s scepter could fall into the wrong hands. He wouldn’t trust it or them to anyone.]

The right price? [Really?] You would not keep them for your own benefit?

.. And what would the "right" price be?

I love treasure, but I'd rather not keep a hold of something that would make me a target, be it by anyone else seeking the shards, or by this Davy Jones. I'll let the poor soul who wants it deal with the fallout.

After they've paid me quite a bit of gold, of course.

So you suspect that people here will turn to the baser side of their nature and resort to anything within their means to obtain the final pieces? [Right now there was no haste to gather them because there was no sign that the gem was nearing completion] I cannot blame you for wanting to remain uninvolved but there is a callousness in your words that I find troubling.

Well, think about it. Would Davy Jones let one person send everyone home? It's more likely that their wish would come true and no one else's.

Unless when the gem is completed, Jones no longer has any use for us. The promise of a wish might be the farce in itself. When he has the gem, he might reveal that he could send us home all along and chose not to because he needed us to do his work for him.

Hm. I hadn't thought about that.

It may be more advantageous to just keep it to myself until he comes calling. I'm curious to meet him.

It is frustrating having so many questions left to solve and so few answers.

Assuming you are able to gather it all in the first place.

I have confidence in myself and my crewmates. We'll find a shard sooner or later, I know it.
