Hain't gonna have the weather this time 'round. Hope ye lot are doin' well wi' the navy or not gettin' yerselves too hurt. I'll be takin' a leave of absence ta see if I can help stop this bedamned plague from spreadin'. We haven't had an outbreak like this fer thirty years-- fortunately we know how ta stop it but I'd keep a fair distance from Dermaevern if I were ye. I wouldn' take a risk on Blackfisk either.

Afore I set out, I hae a little time fer a question ta which ye know the rules of. Ta be specific, though since damned near all 'o ye seem ta hae this problem. I hain't here ta be yer nursmaid or explain ta ye th' ups an' downs 'o friendship. In other words, if ye can ask any 'o yer mates the same question and expect to get answer, do it and don't waste me time.

Oh I'm well aware. You see, pirates are the sorts who would likely fight each other to the death for any bit of coin, and in this regard I might get them to thin their own ranks by going after it. If not, I might be able to sway one of the larger crews into helping me retrieve it if anyone else is too intimidated to do so.

I'd call ye clever except that they can read yer intentions as well as anyone. Closest I know is in th' dead center 'o Muertos, if it hain't dug up yet or if it's real an' not just a legend. Ye can't really tell oft times. It hain't a big treasure. Mostly silver and some iron weapons so they say. More of archaeological interest if tales be right.

It's guarded only by the beasties 'o th' island, they say an' the giant skeleton elk whose antlers're red wi' th' blood 'o those who dared try an' take it. Luck be wi' ye.

While this is true, knowing my intentions won't change the fact that they'll fight each other for it. If they don't, then that simply means that I may have a chance of claiming it for myself. Nevertheless I'm flattered that you'd even consider calling me clever.

I'm surprised meself, honestly. Though I can't be sure if it's true or not. We'll see who has it in th' end.

Psst, hey. You're just making yourself look more stupid, so you should probably stop while you've got some dignity left. Only a crew of idiots would go chasing treasure when they know there's gonna be a fight for it.

Ye shut up, too. It's called takin' a risk. I hain't havin' any 'o ye idiots callin someone wi' an actual plan an' idiot. Once ye all stop piddlin' around and stayin' outta things then ye can come out and talk.

It's kind of pointless to make a plan if you're just going to announce it and your intentions for it where everyone can see them.

If I didn't announce part of my plan, it wouldn't be much of a plan anyways. Besides, I'm not like most of these pirate who feel they have to hide in the shadows with a dagger in the hopes that they'll succeed. One must be bold if one wishes to succeed.

You know what, for your sake I'm just going to pretend that this entire conversation has been a giant red herring so that you can go find some treasure that you stealthily discovered and need to create a diversion for.

Aye, I will that. Ye best mind him. I like ye lot but not that much.

Every group has their troublemakers. He's ours. But I assure you, I'll see him properly handled. This won't happen again.

I get that. Fer me it's Meep. Hain't nothin' ta do with 'em but shut 'em up in libraries and hope they can't find ye when ye don't want 'em too.

I rather think if I locked him up in a library, I'd come back to find the place burned down. Even possibly by accident.

...Lock him in th' library and I'll arrest ye lot meself.

I assure you, I won't. He's the sort of troublemaker that's best kept close at hand. I'll just have to watch him more carefully.

Apology accepted on my account Kyouya. You may want to make sure to keep him on a tighter leash before he makes the wrong enemies, but I'm sure I'm not telling you anything you don't already know yourself.

Any enemies he makes tend to be rather fleeting, unless they are entirely unreasonable people. He's foolish, not malicious.

[Usually. And even if he was malicious... Well. These are the friends Kyouya will defend.]

If you will vouch for him, I will certainly give him the benefit of the doubt. His manner certainly isn't befitting his station, but appearances oft times can be deceiving. Still I would think apologizing for his brashness would be a tiring endeavor if nothing else.

[Much like apologizing for Henry's creepiness.]

I've rarely had to apologize for him here.

Oh? Perhaps he's less brash than I thought, and perhaps I simply manage to bring out the worst in people.
