Ah-! I didn't mean to- Um, I- I suppose if I do this instead--

[The journal switches to written after that short, accidental audio message from a soft-spoken, yet obviously tired young woman. The text that follows is written after a few moments, though.]

My name is Hyuuga Hinata. ~~I am looking for~~

If anyone out there is kind enough to give me directions, or perhaps a map, to this place, I will be very much grateful.

I need to go back to the place I came from to help a good friend in need.

Please.

Thank you and I apologize for the bother.

[Hinata ends her short message and keeps the journal close to her. She knows the name of this place, has gone through her fair share of freaking out before finally turning to her journal for help. She activates her Byakugan for the third time since getting here to search for clues but she can't keep using her bloodline like this. This is probably the last time she can with how low her chakra is right now.]

A new arrival? Then you've precious little chance of going home anytime soon, I'd wager. Considering Davy Jones just went through the trouble of bringing you here.

I would suggest asking around the docks, girl.

[She had read about that Davy Jones in the first page of this journal, but is still clueless as to who he really is. She decides to ask this later in the docks, like this person suggested.]

Ah, thank you. Are you, um, a native of this place if you do not mind me asking?

Hardly. I am from a world not completely unlike this one, however. Largely made up of oceans and island. I am Sir Crocodile, and most of us have wished to be rid of this place on more than one occasion.

The natives are unfriendly at best, so I would suggest you either get a ship of your own, or join up with one of the crews. The crew get their own maps, from what I can see.

I am afraid there is no way to return directly to the place we have all been brought from. Our purpose here, instead, seems to be to recover an object that will allow us to do so.

However, do not fret. The gem we seek should be able to restore us to our homes not only in place, but in time as well.

[As if she didn't recognize that voice immediately, then the name would do it.]

Hinata! It's Sakura! Haruno Sakura!

[She is probably so confused right now so a last name is more necessary than helpful.]

If you're by the fountain, stay there. If not, then could you tell me where you are? I'll explain everything.

[!!!]

Hey, Hinata! It's me, Naruto, y'know! [As if you didn't know by the voice or the "y'know."] I'm here on the boat with Sasuke and Sakura-chan and Itachi and some other people I don't know, but we're workin' on getting back. Then we can help out your friend.

[Yep.]

I'm not good with directions since I don't know where I'm at on the island most of the time, but I could figure out where you are if you need some help.

I'm sorry, we're stranded on this planet for the time being. I know Miss Margie said she was sick but I'm sure if anyone be willing to let you look at a map it be her. She runs a store called the Backwater Brig.

I'm sorry, but I don't follow.

[Those were a lot to take in. Why would she get a ship? Is getting one the only ticket out of this place so she can go back to the war??

Although, there's one thing he said that stood above the others.]

What do you mean you're... [She pauses, swallowing a lump in her throat.] from another world?

[Hinata frowns a little at this written message as she's getting more and more confused. So it takes a longer than usual for her to respond.]

What is this gem we should seek?

[She's tired and confused and that's a lethal combination, but Hinata chooses to find more about whatever's happening here. If there's a gem, then she'll play along for now.]

[Now that's a familiar voice that washes her with relief. If there's someone who can properly explain what's happening here, it would be Sakura. So without further hesitation, Hinata answers.]

Ah, Sakura-san! Yes, um, I am by this fountain. I'm sorry, but I have a lot of questions.

[Now this? This makes her stop with pearl eyes wide in shock. She can't be mistaken! It's him! He introduced himself and everything apart from the voice she'll recognize anywhere.

But how can this even be? What she saw in her Byakugan can't be mistaken-- He's laying down without any pulse and chakra traveling through his body and--

She wanted to protect him, must protect him, but she's so far away and she's not sure how can she even make a difference, and--

There's a long pause as Hinata's hands tremble while holding her journal. She almost thought she'll never be able to find her voice.]

N- Naruto-kun? But, how....?

[She swallows this thick lump in her throat in an attempt to calm herself long enough for form a coherent sentence.]

You... but...

[To no avail.]

[Oh, good. That makes things easier for the both of them.]

I'll try and answer them all when I get there. I'm on my way!

[/NINJAaaa]

Yes, I think I saw those names in the first page of this journal.

[The next words are written after a little interval.]

But what do you mean we are stranded? I know it's a weird question, but...

[She sounds pretty distressed. Then again, she usually stutters, at least when he's heard her talk. Most of the time. Not always. And it's not like it's a bad thing! Some people are shy is all.]

Me? Butt? Me butt? You okay, Hinata? Hey, I'll come find you, seriously. You don't have to worry about it.

Don't worry, I'll be right there.

[Hinata doesn't have to wait long. Sakura can be quick when she needs to be. Unlike Sasuke when he had come to meet his two teammates, she runs through the crowd towards the fountain, eyes locked straight ahead. When there's a break in all the bustle, she can make out Hinata sitting by the fountain.

She looks alright. Maybe as tired as she had been upon arrival. As stressed out, too.]

Hinata!

He's his usual self. The same charming ~~idiot~~ optimistic young man who she met trying to change everyone's perception of him.

But the last she saw him, even when he's so far away, he was on the verge of death and she felt utterly helpless tripping on the ground when her desire, her promise to protect him resonates loud in her heart.

At this point, Hinata's unaware that silent tears began flowing down her cheeks in sheer mixed emotions.]

No, it's, um... [She pauses, biting her lip in hesitation. No, if he doesn't seem to know what happened to him, she'll respect that.] I'm sorry, it's just...

...

I- I'm fine.

[There's so many things going through her mind right now, but all these were interrupted when she heard her name being called by a familiar voice. Instantly looking up, Hinata wanted to smile, but she's exhausted and distressed, that she just calls out and waves at the other kunoichi in relief.]

Sakura-san!

[It's not like he's ever been good with recognizing the subtle changes in a girl's emotions or how they act. He's too dense and sometimes terrible with a certain type of empathy when it comes to girls. ~~It's a shounen guys only recognize the emotions of other guys.~~

But he does realize SOMETHING is up, which does make him feel concerned because 1) she's a friend and 2) she's done some important things for him as of late.]

Alright, I'm still gonna come find you.

[He'll probably show up after Sakura or something.]

And don't let anybody make you feel worried. I don't plan on us sticking around here long, so we'll all be okay.

[That same relief slams into Sakura. Another familiar face that's still alive. So people from her world can show up later. Months later, but also days later. It's only been just under two weeks since she's been here.

Hinata does look okay, but it never hurts to ask. And she needs to know Hinata is okay before she can answer any of her questions.]

Are you alright? Are you injured at all?

[She shakes her head, more as a reply to her second question than the first one, though she's definitely not alright as well.]

I'm just... tired and running on low chakra, is all.

[She doesn't meet Sakura's eyes as she's still thinking about what she saw in their world last.]

I'm doing alright. Please do not worry about me.

[All Hinata needed was rest then. She could get it here.

Sakura's shoulders relax slightly and she has an idea what's on her mind. If she's from anywhere near when she left home, then--]

So, what were your questions?

[She tries to smile for Hinata's sake, reassuring her silently that everything was okay. Since Sakura had been the one healing Naruto at the time, that should say something.]

[She's not exactly sure what seeing Naruto, alright and without any signs of dying, will do to her. But she doesn't comment on that.]

Thank you for your concern, Naruto-kun...

[There's a small smile on her lips even when he can't see it.]

And your kind words. I, well, I'll wait for you. I'm very glad you are doing alright.

Naruto-kun, um...

[That came out almost instantly after Sakura asked her question. She knows the other is the one with him and she can't think of anyone more capable of tending to Naruto's health, aside from Tsunade, but her comrade.

She looks up now and the anxiety on her face is clear and undeniable.]

I saw with my Byakugan that he's without a pulse, and, well... [Her voice turns softer there, but she tries to steel it with her question.] I- Is he going to be alright?

[Her face softens and she knows just how much Naruto means to Hinata. She's not surprised that's number one on her list of questions.

She keeps smiling.]

He's here. He's fine. One hundred percent himself, too.

[And she would make sure he would be fine at home.]
