I just wanted to speed it up a little!

[Korra's voice is panicked as her journal is whipped open. She isn't even directing the words specifically at the open book, now.]

Asami, just- Try to get more water! Or something! We can't afford burn through all of the fresh barrels, either!

[There's definitely something going on in the background. The clanging of pots and pans, the wild shuffling of (two?) makeshift pirates, and... is that a fire crackling? Finally, Korra's voice is loud and clear over the journal.]

Guys, we need some help down in the kitchen! We... I... kind of set it on fire. Like. Really on fire. [Then she's gone again for a moment-] And if anyone not on the ship can hear this... Advice?? Please?! [There's only so much water to be bent at her disposal.]

I know, I know. I've put out a fire before.

[In spite of this entire stupid incident, Korra has actually managed her share of stray fires. It comes with being a firebending student.]

Beneath the deck... You think it spread down there?

[Of course it could have. Panic. Panic panic panic.]

If any of the fire burned through the floor, it obviously could have continued into the lower level.

I don't think any reached the floor-

[But she's still audibly nervous. Korra dashes down below the deck and-

A sigh of relief.]

Nope. All clear.

[He's not even trying to hide the slight amusement in his tone when she returns to the journal.]

So how exactly did this start?

[SHE'S REALLY SICK OF EXPLAINING IT, BUT...]

I... kinda... set dinner on fire.

[Okay, there's more than slight amusement now.]

Were you really that hungry?

...A little!

[She actually doesn't pick upon the jab.]

It was cooking really slowly.

And you thought setting it on fire would fix that?

[It's not even so much that Sasuke doesn't understand the temptation -- he learned fire jutsu before he learned to cook, and learned to cook as an impatient child -- as he can't imagine the thought process that would lead to applying fire in a wooden vessel.]

Not setting it on fire!

[Don't put words in her mouth, HUFF.]

I've cooked things with firebending before!

I've cooked things with fire jutsu before, and I haven't set anything on fire. [It's a little bit mocking and a lot amused.]

YEAH, WELL I wasn't paying attention, okay?!

[What the hell is a fire jutsu? Never mind, she doesn't even care to ask at this point. All you weirdos and your fancy names for bending...]

That's the kind of thing where not paying attention will end up in an explosion.
