[With all the commotion of Konoha-nin showing up and then disgusting mind-controlling candy showing up directly after them, Sasuke has nearly forgotten about the other encounter he had on Empieza the day he met his former teammates -- but there's finally been a lull, and he's perched as high in the rigging as he can go without the journal blowing out of his hands when he remembers.]

Has anyone seen this?

[Believe it or not, he has actually put effort into this drawing, but a dragon is not a battle diagram.]

[She really sounds bizarrely delighted about the dragon, though at least it's a pleasant alternative to the fear others seem to be insisting on.]

Do you not have dragons in your world, then?

I suppose that there could be, but I have never seen one. They are mostly relegated to myth and stories, but then... so were fairies!

[Were? His voice shades into confusion.]

I thought you weren't fairies.

We are not.

Our partners however are.

[There is a longer pause where he opens his mouth and then closes it again, frowning in confusion at the book. So the Precure aren't fairies, but they work with fairies. But the fairies are probably not the same as the one he fought. Maybe?]

... what do they look like?

[A slight laugh.]

Mine is a tiny little bear! His name is Lance. Rikka's Raquel is a blue dog, and Mana's Cheryl is a rabbit. Our friend Makoto-san arrived, as well, with her partner Davi - she usually assumes the form of a cat.

Just so you know if you come across any of us, and are not alarmed when they suddenly begin to speak.

[It's too bad she can't see him, because he's staring at the book with an even blanker expression now, and once again -- opens his mouth to say something, then shuts it again because he can't quite ... a tiny little bear? That is a fairy? A blue dog?

Now that he thinks about it, there had been something kind of flittering around Rikka before she'd transformed that first day, but he hadn't paid much attention to it. Had that been the blue dog?

Eventually, he manages:]

I see. Well then. I ... won't be surprised if I see them, then.

They've always been around any time we've fought, so you may have just missed them!

[Okay, as Precures the fairies are cell phones attached to their hips, but regardless.]

But I suppose there may well be many different kinds of fairies, especially since all of ours are a little different from one another.

... I haven't actually seen any small flying animals around you when you were fighting. [Besides that weird speck before Rikka transformed, but otherwise he's just seen ridiculously-dressed people. Maybe they're just that small?]

They must be much smaller than the other fairy around here.

Ah, you would not! They themselves transform into other forms before we change, and are on our outfits at the time.

They are not quite that tiny.

... on your outfits? [Is this the same kind of thing as Marvelous and Luka's transformation, where the weird key-thing is somehow involved?]

So what happens if they're removed from your clothes?

That is not something we have tested much, nor something I am in the mind to. They generally seem to stay attached unless we remove them ourselves.

... shouldn't that be something you've tested? What if an opponent goes for them? [This deep confusion is becoming really familiar when talking to these people.]

...that is something worth considering. I shall keep it in mind!

That said, I have never been much worried about an opponent being skilled enough to relieve me of something that important in such close range.

[That last bit sounds... oddly really confident for as light and breezy a tone as is typical for Alice. In an, "I'd like to see them try" sort of way.]

You're that certain of your close-combat abilities? [Some of the confusion gives way to interest, for once unmitigated by the perplexing question what exactly these Precures are.

Then again, maybe she means --] Or are you talking about your defensive capability?

[He'd heard something before about her role as shield of some sort in their formation.]

Both.

[Simple. Straight to the point. Still said politely, but with ultimate confidence.]

You're confident. Are you willing to back it up?

I am not one who regularly seeks combat, I am afraid. If it is an unavoidable situation, that is another matter.

Do you not train? [There's doubt in his voice now. Unless her defensive abilities are completely rooted in whatever that transformation thing is, in which case ... maybe that makes sense?]

[For some Precure? Yes, "fighting ability with powers" applies. For Alice? Nope.]

Well, yes! But the thing is, I must be very careful. [A beat.] You see, I would not want to unnecessarily hurt anyone.

[That's intriguing. It's one thing to boast of strength, but to talk like this with so practical a tone implies genuine skill.]

I'd like to see what you can do. You won't hurt me unnecessarily.

Perhaps, if you are insistent. I suppose it is a necessity to keep our skills up to par, as we are not beset by enemies quite as much as at home.

Plus, I have not really had the opportunity since my injury was healed.

I need more variety in my own training routine. We have too many weird powers here to try to scrape by otherwise.

We're docked at Empieza now. Where are you?

Similarly, although I do not think this the ideal place for such a thing. I would not want to damage the ships or the town, and...

Well, I am frankly still recovering my strength. One of our new crew mates healed the injuries Rikka and I had, but I was still out of commission for several weeks.
