[With all the commotion of Konoha-nin showing up and then disgusting mind-controlling candy showing up directly after them, Sasuke has nearly forgotten about the other encounter he had on Empieza the day he met his former teammates -- but there's finally been a lull, and he's perched as high in the rigging as he can go without the journal blowing out of his hands when he remembers.]

Has anyone seen this?

[Believe it or not, he has actually put effort into this drawing, but a dragon is not a battle diagram.]

...God help you if there is a baby Hungarian Horntail running amok somewhere and this is how you tell me.

A Hungarian Horntail—it's a dragon. Obviously. One of the more dangerous ones.

[Right, obviously, whatever 'Hungarian' means. In the rigging, no one can see Sasuke roll his eyes, though Draco can probably hear the exasperation in his voice.]

You can identify dragons? And this is what your Horntail one looks like?

You realize that Draco means 'dragon', right? I like the beasts. [He likes reading about them, anyway.] But that aside, we learned a bit about them in school. Just briefly, some of the breeds.

Granted, your...drawing...isn't entirely anatomically correct -- the wings are all wrong, but considering that Hungarian Horntails have black scales, horns, and spikes on their tails...yes. It looks like one.

It doesn't have horns or spikes on its tail. I think the things on its head are ears.

Because everyone knows that.

It's Latin. And it's a constellation in my world. ...Neither of which you have, I suppose.

No, now it looks like some kind of overgrown bug. With ears. Though actually I'm not sure why there would be a dragon here from my world anyway. Perhaps I'm wrong.

What is the red thing on its tail if not a spike?

We have constellations, but nothing like this world's. Or likely yours.

... maybe we don't have your bugs, either. Even our giant bugs don't look like this. [Konohagakure's Forest of Death has some weird things in it, but nothing on the level of the dragon.]

The red thing was made of cloth. It looked like it was made to match the other side of the tail. [For flight purposes, probably. Sasuke's dealt with raptors enough to know that tail damage can impede flight.]

...Just taking the mickey out of you, mate, it doesn't actually look like a bug. Do you really have giant bugs? Because that's horrifying.

Parts of our world do. They're just giant versions of our regular bugs. [And sometimes they attack genin trying to make it through the second level of the Chuunin exams. Sasuke sounds nonchalant about them, mostly because he is.]

It seemed to be looking for the person who made it. [Assuming it was the same person who made the tail thing and the saddle, anyway.]

We have giant spiders. And probably other giant things, I guess. ...And just giants.

Ah, well who knows if he's here or not, right? The dragon might be out of luck.

[He's about to mention that the kid seems to have been found after all, but he ends up distracted by the thought: are they going to get giant humans next, after dragons? This particular dragon seems closely tied to a human, and more intelligent than an oversized spider or centipede, but if they do start getting the fauna of their home worlds ...]

Yes? You know, about twenty feet tall or thereabouts.

[He pauses, then amends it with:] Well, sometimes. But only deliberately. Are your giants just larger versions of humans?

To an extent. Though they're less intelligent, much stronger, and incredibly violent.

... are they some kind of different species? [As jovial as the Akimichi might be, they can't be described as anything Draco has listed.]

Well, yes. They can have relations with humans, though. The groundskeeper at my school is a half-giant.

[It takes just a second, and then Sasuke is forcibly reminded of some of the weirder mutations Orochimaru had tried to engender in his test subjects -- the man had never bred them as far as Sasuke knew, but still ...]

Not particularly. He's overly large and an oaf and likes to introduce young children to extremely dangerous beasts that they have no business being around.

It was probably meant to breed strength or something. [It wouldn't be the dumbest thing done to create or preserve a bloodline by far.]

...I doubt it. I'm not sure there was any specific purpose to it at all. It's all-around awkward, really, if you try to work out the hows and whys of it.

[Now he's thinking about hows and whys of giant breeding with permanently large giants, and he doesn't want to. Ugh, if only there were a way to un-imagine something -- the sentiment is obvious in his voice:]

Specifics of breeding for bloodline are better left to the people planning it.
