[Alice sounds... far, far cheerier than she has in a very long time. However genuine that may or may not be, she sounds legitimate, and there's only a few people that can probably rightly figure that out one way or another.]
Happy Valentine's Day~!
Once more I realize there are many not from our world who may not understand the holiday. [As a businesswoman in training, she understands what it means to the modern business world very well, but she would rather look at the more idealistic side of things there:] It is a day to celebrate love, and the people you love. Something I plan to not let escape me.
However, it would indeed appear as per the usual holiday pattern there is something strange going on... It would seem to be much less... nefarious than some things in the past, at least... [A bit of a flustered tone slips through.] Still, please be careful!
Regardless, I hope that everyone has a happy day!
[Meanwhile, on the ship itself, Mana and Rikka are going to find particularly large bouquets of flowers parked outside their rooms. They range across many varying types of flowers, and are pretty thoughtfully put together. Each has a small note attached, addressed to each one, with Alice's name and a heart on them.
Every other member of the crew will find a pot with a single - but pretty! - flower in it as a token of friendship. Because A) Apparently, Alice really likes flowers and B) Even if they are not likely to last long at sea, she figures the ship as a whole could use a little more color for at least a few days.
Beyond that? Mana and Rikka will also probably find Alice hovering around either of them even more significantly than normal - which give the last few weeks, was a lot - because it's not like she's completely paranoid regarding the candies floating around or anything.]
[OOC - And if anyone wanders across her, candy induced hugs are fine. ANYTHING ELSE... is reserved for Rikka or Mana.]

Are there traditions associated with this festival?

[Brief pause.] Ah, I should have gotten chocolates too...

What about absent loved ones?

[Action] If this is too passive I can tweak it.
[Asbel's head tilts almost comically to the side as he ventures out of his room, the door swinging shut behind him with a loud "thunk". He knows he's a bit of a pack rat, but he's pretty sure he didn't leave any flowerpots sitting out in the hall before he went to sleep. So then someone else must've left it there. But who?]
[Asbel squats down to examine his. Food and candy are easy enough to figure, but what should he do with this? Sit it in his room somewhere? Does he need to keep it watered? Sunlit?]
Wonder what kind it is. Doesn't look like the ones up on Lhant Hill.

Oh, hello! I see you found it.
[She... sounds cheerful, at least. She had been getting progressively better and more open through the last couple weeks, and it would seem that the arrival of a healer on ship and what resulted from it had its desired effect. Outwardly, at least.]

[Like he's keeping track of what the candies and flowers are for. Still, he looks none the worse for wear, although he definitely received his share of cuts and bruises from the ordeal last month. Most of the damage is on the inside, though. Maybe they're not so different that way.]
So this is from you? Then you must know what type of flower it is, right?

And despite the fact that he didn't see who it was that did it, he nevertheless knows exactly who he's looking for... somehow.
As soon as he spots Alice, he excitedly waves at her.]
Hey, Alice! You're the one who left that flower, right?
no subject
Ah, yes! I figured that everyone could use something a bit festive, even if I realize most on this ship are not quite from the same world as I am... I hope it was all right?
no subject
This is for some holiday from your world, right? I keep hearing people mention it in the journal! It sounds pretty fun, whatever it is.

[action]
After a brief trip to the market (again) for a few glass vases, she leaves one in front of Mana's door, a small note attached with nothing but a diamond, leaves all but one of the remainder somewhere safe in the storeroom, fills the last with clean water, and takes it to her room, arranging the bouquet carefully within. If she could keep it healthy for a few days, it'd brighten her room up nicely. Not that it didn't already lighten her step a little already... on that note, where was Alice? She leaves her door open and, after a moment of looking around outside for her teammate, stands in the doorway and admires the flowers. She's not taking chances; she raided the candy bowl this morning, and anything she found terribly offensive got stuff into a small leather pouch at her hip, which she is resolutely not eating from, though she does have a small stash of more tame hearts to munch on if the need arises.]
no subject
Of course, she should, on that day. It was only right they spent time together.
Before coming into view of Rikka's room, however, she passes by a bowl. She doesn't even think of it before she's already passed by, and somehow two end up in her mouth and get consumed until it does click with her what she just did. And without reading them, either. She gives an exasperated sigh to herself, silently admonishing her ability to keep hold of herself there. At least it wasn't... bad things, right? It wasn't quite like those other, far more terrible influences that had been thrown at all of them...
Still, she's already at her destination, and spies Rikka in the doorway.]
Rikka!
[...and before realizes what she's doing, with only that scarce warning to either of them, Alice is coming right up behind her to try and wrap her in a sudden, tight hug. Well, okay, that was the first one-]
You look very pretty today!
[-while that random, unsolicited comment must have been the second heart.]
no subject
I do? I haven't done anything different... but thanks, Alice.
[The compliment is new, but that's what happens when there are candy hearts out to make you into a love freak for the weekend.]
And thank you for the flowers, too. It's a very pretty bouquet, if a little hard to lift. [She loosen's Alice's grip enough to turn and face her, leaning back into her and returns the hug.] Happy Valentine's Day.

[But he is so unsure if he wants to see how Davy Jones ruins that too.]

I was not considering that. Given this, Christmas, American Thanksgiving, and... [A beat, and a bit quieter:] Halloween...

Rikka must have seen them before me, because she had a vase for them waiting for me too! I had no idea you had an eye for these things! They look so lovely!
voice;
Ah, she had indeed... I am very glad that you like them!
I have enjoyed flowers quite a bit since I was a little girl, actually. It seemed like as good a time as any to put that knowledge to good use.

I wonder who left this here.

Oh, good! You found yours, as well. I didn't know where else to set them besides by people's doors, but I was hopeful no one would trip over them on their way out...

It's nice, though. I like Valentine's Day, even though I haven't really celebrated it myself yet.
voice;
[Suddenly much more brightly.] This is a very different sort of Valentine's Day for me, so... it is something to adjust to on my end. I hope that I am going about things the correct way.
