[Voice/Action]
[If you're anywhere near the Empieza town square, you might come across a blond young man sitting on the edge of the fountain, examining his journal. Flipping through the pages, turning it nearly inside out, etc.
If you're not there, you'll hear the sound of paper rustling, as well as somewhat intelligible muttering as Guy accidentally activates the voice function.]
..do you operate this? I feel silly talk--
[Some unidentifiable sounds, then, much more clearly:]
Oh, here... Hello? I was told I can use this to communicate, but I've never seen any recording fontech like this before. Can anyone hear me?
[Ahem.] Anyway, the locals have been, ah...less than helpful in explaining where exactly I've ended up. I know the name of the town, but it's not one I recognize.
I guess...if anyone has any info, my name's Guy and you can contact me through the...this book.
[Preferably before he tries to take it apart.]

Hang on...Luffy, right? What shards am I supposed to be finding?

You're in another world, first off. I... I know that's a lot to take in, but it's the truth for all of us, I'm afraid.
I'm assuming voice, right?
Ah, so I'm not even on Auldrant at all anymore. [Great.] What world is this, then?
[sure]
Gotcha
[voice]
[voice]; assuming this takes place before he talks to Jade
[Fellow Auldrant citizens are a good incentive to get him to join your crew, Aida]
So is your ship docked here or...?
[voice];
Yes it is! We're in the harbor in fact!
Re: [voice];
[They're not really close enough to be 'friends', so 'travel buddies' is the next best thing.]
I'll make my way over there, then.
[voice];
[Voice]
I fear you're not going to be finding much fontech here, Guy. A tragedy, I know.
[Voice]
Really? So how do these books work...?
[Voice]
voice
[Sort of.]
That means I probably shouldn't write anything in here I wouldn't want anyone else to see.

Re: voice;
'Fon machine' is the word you're looking for. 'Fontech' is short for 'fonic technology', which refers to machines created using fonons.
[Most circular definition ever.]
voice;
Fonons...I don't actually know what that is either. I guess our worlds are completely different, but it's interesting.
voice; sorry this is so late
[Or at least his.]
You have six types--Earth, Wind, Water, Fire, Light, and Darkness--and depending on how they're combined, they create different things. Does that make sense?

[action]
[A familiar head of blond hair catches her eye, and she grins to herself. And he's even sitting right on the edge of the fountain too! Perfect.]
[Blending in with the crowd of newcomers and locals nearby, she sneaks closer, and...
Jumps out to stand right in front of him with her arms spread wide, ready to hug him!]
Guy! ♥
[Let's see if she can startle him enough for him to fall backwards into the fountain. Good thing it's broken so he won't get wet if he does!]
[action] sorry this is late 1/?
Well, until she moves right in front of him, prompting him to look up at movement so close by.]
Hm?
2/?
3/3

[The smile quickly turns into a mock-pout.]
I can't believe you're still scared of little old me!

[If only said familiar face would move a bit so he can get out of the fountain before he embarrasses himself further.]
no subject
[She's not upset at all, really! And because she's actually pretty nice (sort of), she leans down and reaches her hand out to help Guy up.]
no subject
...then decides that nope, he can't do it, and pushes himself to his feet by himself.]
...Sorry. Thanks, though...
no subject
No, it's not your fault. [She rubs her forehead.] I just forgot...
[Buuuut there are other things to do aside from dwelling on remorse! She opens her eyes again, hands going to her hips.] So, you just got here, did you?
[action]
There's new things to see and discover, and she's not yet bored of this area. Not when she can still approach other blatantly obvious newcomers. Sifting through the journal and uttering confusion and questions into the pages marks Guy as a fitting target, and so she makes her move.]
That journal is interesting. [She pauses, arms crossing under her bust.] I've never seen anything quite like it. Is it similar to your "fontech"?
[action]; So sorry this is so late
Hm? Yeah, it is... [Depending on how close to him she is when she's stopped, he might move to put a few inches more space between them as he's talking.]
No, not really. Usually fontech refers to machinery, and this doesn't look very mechanical. But it's capable of recording audio, so I thought it might be something I've never seen before.
[action]; no problemo o/
No, this doesn't look like a machine I'm familiar with either. Nor does it even resemble any book I've ever seen. It's quite peculiar, the fact that it's native here but no where else.
[Begs the question of where, exactly, this place is. But that's a loaded question, and one she doesn't really expect anyone to have the answer to.]
[action]
Maybe they're a bit more advanced than we're familiar with. Too bad the people here don't seem to know that much about the things.
[Or aren't saying anything. Could be both.]
[action]
[She doesn't advance, but she does lean over, a clear lack of care for any cleavage she might be showing.]
no subject
Is this action or through the journal?
Journal, sorry!
Huh.
S'ok!
Re: S'ok!
Well, the most basic summary of a Blastia is that it is a three part device that produces useful effects. It depends on Aer, a complex naturally-occuring energy, plus a crystal-like focus known as a Blastia core, all run through a 'formula', a programmable external device that takes power from the crystal to produce desired effects.
The theory takes a few hours to...
[Interruption chance granted. Because seriously, if Guy doesn't stop her, she'll be at this for hours.]
no subject
Hold on, hold on. I mean...it sounds interesting, but is there an explanation that takes a little less time?
[He's patient, but not quite to that extent.]
no subject
They're not trivial things to understand, even if it's just for Strike Artes.
