[The first thing that is heard is the ending sound of an explosion followed by the sound of flames creeping in the background. Voices are heard, but most of them are clearly away from the journal that is accidentally recording it all. There's a lot of yelling, cries of pain mixed with ones of rage, coupled with the metallic sounds of swords being dragged and firearms being charged. Ikki's voice is heard then, closer to the journal but not speaking directly to it.]

Hn, seems that this time it's a decent sized one. They are at least well prepared with their weapons.

You two! What the hell do you think you're doing?! Do you know who are you picking a fight with?

[Several voices raise in a chorus for the man who just spoke, the pained ones drowned by the ones claiming for blood and revenge.]

Who said we're picking a fight with you. We're just here to destroy you, no one is going to miss another pirate ship.

You have some nerve rookies! Kill them!!! Let them regret it when they meet Davy Jones!!

I really would like to meet that guy, you know. Are you done, Selphie?

[There's a huff and a sigh, closer and clearer than any other sound as Ikki steps forward and the pirates start attacking. Selphie's voice then can be heard clearly indicating that she's the one holding the journal open.]

On my way! So much for touching base with the crew.

[The last words, albeit heard are obviously muted and soon followed by a loud thud as the journal falls. The sound of quick steps joins the battling sounds that now fill the area and a cracking noise can be heard as Selphie conjures up a thundara spell.]

[30 minutes later or so...]

[The sounds of battle are still going on in the background when Selphie's voice sounds directly to the journal again.]

Hi. Spades. It's Selphie. I know... that some of you might..never want to see me again but I'm - I'm sailing around with Ikki some. We'll be heading back soon... So yeah, in case anyone was worrying about him, he's here with me. And he's fine.

(ooc: Replies will come from both Selphie and Ikki! If you want only one of them just state so in the subject!)

[He says nothing to the first part, because it's true, and he's not going to deny something that is true just to comfort her. Even if he tried she wouldn't believe him either way. The second part is different though.]

You're wrong. I understand why you would want to hide from that. But it's over now, and it's no different from those who I've burned alive right before. Or from the guy whose neck I broke and whom I burned after because of the way he looked at you.

What I don't understand, is why you expected something different from me because I'm pretty sure that I've never denied having killed my enemies or that it's painful for them. And that I didn't forget to mention to you the dangers of being with me in any way. But you act as if suddenly I'm a different man from the one you love.

*There was that too - the burning. She'd had to stop and stare at that, and a shiver crawls down her spine. Beneath her breath, she muttered, "Just like how you burned me..." But then she looked back up at him again*

You didn't have to break that guy's neck. He only looked at me...

But no, it's not that you're different. It's just... It was... horrible. And I didn't expect it.

*Though she doesn't realise it, she's pouting at him, because he's right, in a way, she did know this, and maybe she's being unreasonable*

[He hears her muttered words and responds with his own. When she turns to accuse him regarding the leering guy... He crosses his arms and looks around.]

I know I didn't have to. I did some things that day I didn't have to, but I don't regret any of them and I would do them all again. I didn't like the way he looked at you, it reminded me of bad things.

[He sighs and shakes his head at the last part.]

Then I honestly don't know what you were expecting. Specially when I told you why I was doing this side trip. I would have liked to do that to the witch while slowly burning her body, so she would regret eternally what she did to you and the others.

*Thinking about that first time on the other ship, and how it feels between them now, it makes her heart feel heavy. She sighs deeply and rubs at her eye, like it's itchy and it's irritating her*

*She glances up at him again, but only for a moment. Without thinking about it at all, she lifts a hand to her mouth and begins chewing at a nail*

I- I know. I remember...

*It's not like he was going to propose a romantic cruise or anything*

[If he does, right now he's not sure if he should bring her along. Not when she's going to get like this, he brought her because he thought she needed it too. He doesn't regret having bringing her, but if she's going to be all "it's unexpected" as if he had lied to her or something to whatever they do next... He's not in the mood of being told that the girl that claims to love him apparently had a completely different idea of who he is.

When he answers his tone is calm, betraying nothing of what he's thinking.]

I'm fine now.

[He isn't, but he's better regarding what started the travel. And he wants to talk to Marco about something anyway.]

Let's go back, okay?

*Selphie looks at him for a long time, embarrassed and ashamed of her reaction, especially if it's made him feel uncomfortable, or unsure in some way. But then... as far as she's aware, this all links back to that kiss on the other ship. Something had gone wrong then, when he pushed her away, and nothing had been as nice as that since. She told him that she loved him, though, moments ago, but she's not so sure that he was interested in hearing it. She's full of a sense of foreboding, like it's her fault that Ikki's not happy. Of course, it would be too much for any of this to work out... She was only Selphie after all.

Thinking all of this as she looks at him, she finally lowers her eyes and nods her head*

Okay.

*And she'll move to head off to gather whatever supplies they need to before heading back*
