Of all the times to get sick...!

[ Oh, she accidentally hit record. It's a good thing she realized it pretty quickly, before her little rant got recorded besides that. She didn't want to leave everyone out to hang during all of the drama with the witch and possessions, but unfortunately, aura protected against injuries a lot better than it did against the flu.

But now she was better. Jaune had gone and joined a crew by now and Weiss? She had been planning to do the same since their original plans to have their own crew had gone slightly awry. Having sold the ship, she still owed Jaune half of the money for that. Well, that'll come up when it comes up. For now, if this thing is recording she might as well make a useful post out of it. ]

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that someone from another world is much more susceptible to the flu here. I'm glad that's over. Do people get sick here often or do I just have very bad luck?

[ Moving right along, she has a declaration to make: ]

Oh, and I'm joining The Shepherds.

[ ~~Weiss you do not declare, you have to ask.~~ ]

I don't mean to only sign up after the trouble's over, but I couldn't really avoid it.

[ Just because she likes a few people on the Shepherd's crew so far doesn't mean she'll be any good at taking orders from the captain, but she's trying! ]

A swordsman-in-training. You've got a good choice in weapons, at least. [ Sword wielders unite! ] I'm a huntress-in-training from Beacon Academy, so if you're half as good as me, perhaps you can help me with Jaune.

[ Basically, group practice sessions would be okay with her if he's at least as good as Jaune is. She's trying to reach out and be a good teammate okay. ]

I am! I made sure it was completely gone before I decided to join.

Yeah... It's kind of a dream of mine to become a knight someday. I'm pretty good, but I could probably be a lot better if I found someone to teach me.

What's Beacon Academy like? And what's wrong with Jaune?

Well, that's good! It really sucks to be sick and stuck in bed all day. I'm glad you don't have to deal with that anymore.

A knight is pretty similar to what a hunter or huntress would be in my world. We protect humanity from monsters called Grimm and anyone who would upset the peace, like the White Fang or certain criminals if they use dangerous weapons that the police aren't prepared for. We don't get knighted or anything, we just have to graduate from school with the appropriate skill level.

Jaune needs some work to get up to that skill level but there's nothing actually... wrong with him. [ There she said it. There's nothing wrong with Jaune. That's a step in the right direction. ]

Beacon Academy is a very good school! It's the number one school for Hunters and Huntresses in Remnant! [ She sounds so proud about that. Really, if she wanted to go to any of the other ones, she could have. Beacon was the one she wanted though. ]

So am I.

[Oh, Weiss, this is all so. totally. cool! Asbel won't even try to interrupt. Or hide his excitement. When he starts up again, the words tumble out a little faster, and occasionally his voice will crack at the end of a syllable.]

Must be with all that going on! It sounds a lot like what I've heard about the knight academy. You have to graduate there, too. But not all knights are the same, you know? Some go off to fight monsters and bandits, some become instructors, and some join the royal guard. That's what I want to do. Err--not that I'd say no to traveling the world and taking out monsters, or anything! I've just gotta figure out a way to enroll first!

So in other words Jaune just needs to practice more so he can reach his full potential, right? That doesn't seem too bad. And this "White Fang" you mentioned is a group of bad guys...?

[ She's not unused to people being fans of hers. She's been in front of audiences before. But getting this kind of excitement is something that she can relate to. Being able to be a huntress like this is something that excites her, even if she's still in training. ]

Joining the royal guard is a great plan! I suppose this place could definitely have its benefits for training.. if we spend time here making sure that we're all up to the right level, then when we get back we'll impress everyone at Beacon and you'll impress the Knight Academy well enough to get in.

Jaune is going to need a lot of practice to reach his full potential.

The White Fang is the absolute worst of scumbags. They're criminals who don't care a single bit about humanity and just want to see every last one of us destroyed. They've been at war with my family, killing off people I know since I was a little kid. They're a horrible group of liars, thieves, and murderers.

Yeah, that sounds perfect! By the time we're done, I bet we'll be so good we won't have any trouble at all. Even Jaune.

[Because he'd do just about anything to get into the Academy. Well, almost anything. The mood takes a sudden dip, though, and Asbel lets out a strangled gasp of disbelief.]

...W-wow, that's awful. Why would they even do something like that? Man, I just don't get it... [Agitated, he rubs hard at the back of his neck while trying to figure out why the heck people would even want to do things like hurt other people and make them miserable.]

That's the exact right attitude, Asbel. I can only wish some of my classmates had that sort of attitude.

[ Well, they're better than when they started but being serious about this is hard to come by sometimes. At least Weiss's level of serious. ]

They have tons of reasons they throw around but it doesn't change what they are. I suppose they used to stand for something else, but not anymore.

Huh... Well, maybe when you get back, you can show them the right kind of attitude to have. They might just not realize what they're missing yet. Once they see you trying hard and how tough you've become, I'm sure they'll figure it out.

It's not like they do bad but I feel like they could be much better if they worked harder. If you're willing to go the whole way, I can see us getting along.

That's what I've been told. Most of what I remember is nothing but hatred.

So what you want is for them to try more.

...The whole way? Are you serious? [As opposed to halfway? Please, Weiss. This kid won't back down once he's made his mind up.]

You've got nothing to worry about! If this training or whatever is the first step to being ready for the knights, then I'm definitely there.

[But this whole White Fang business... Sounds like it's been going on for a really long time. Before she was born even.]
