[Ace's post begins with a number of screaming pleas. They're cut off in an instant and bodies are heard hitting the ground, one rapidly after the other. Beyond that, a set of slow foot-steps permeates past that noise. It all stops--just as the sound of an anchor being towed up from the water follows.]
I'm tired of making you bow. [Another man fell--and then another.]
Those of you who can still stand. Raise your sails and turn the helm 45 degrees clockwise. To Aeolipile.
Please! We don't want to go there! There's madmen, there! The Sea Witch is--Ungh!
[Another man hit the floor at that--presumably the one crying out to Ace.]
You have my apologies. Next time, just remember--I'm never going to ask you questions. I'm only going to be issuing commands.
[At that, Ace's journal ceased sending over his voice.]

Pack everything up and run. If you don't run in time, then don't let me reach the shore.

Should I take that as authorization to fight back, then? I'd rather you not take it personally.
voice;
[He wasn't allowed to discuss why. It was fine if he told them what he wanted to do, though.]
You'll find out.
voice;
[Shrug. Alright, that's fine...]
voice;
Who are you?
voice;
And you're the captain, I'm told.
voice;
I am. At the moment, that doesn't matter, though.
voice;
Why's that?
voice;
[Though, the words came out choked, Ace still said them.]
I'm going to.
voice;
[Chandra, who doesn't even know the guy, hardens her voice.]
It's that bitch, and she's in your head. Maybe you're too far gone to really resist, but if you're in control enough to warn us, then maybe I can do something.
voice;
He needed to give them false hope.]
Unless it involves killing me, fat chance. Restraint, guarding me--none of that's gonna work.
voice;
I bet I could. There's next to nothing I can't restrain or subdue, Captain. Rather not kill you on the first day.
voice;
He'll let ya' know the truth of that matter.
voice;
I just...well, fuck me, I'll figure something out. If there's a chance I can break the bitch's hold on you, I will. And if not, no hard feelings?
voice;
[Without missing a beat.] That's fine by me.
voice;
[She sounds somber, solemn, and determined.]
I'll do everything in my power to keep our crew safe, then.
voice;
I don't want to be disappointed.
[With that, Ace shut his journal.]
