[Anise had been through some pretty weird stuff lately, but waking up in a completely unfamiliar place all alone might just take the cake. The island isn't anything like the places she's been to either, and she's been to quite a few. Her first instinct is to try buddy up with the locals, but when all the answers she get are annoyingly vague, she finally turns her attention to the weird journal she has with her. A quick trip to the fountain later, she's marginally less confused, but all her earlier questions are replaced with new ones.]

[She does take a moment to keep flicking through the journal though as she tries to work out how to use it. Huh, seems like there are plenty of new arrivals like her. She better introduce herself and find a crew too! Especially if it meant she'll be able to find that ruby by doing so.]

Hey everyone! My name's Anise Tatlin, and I just got here! [Now, should she play for sympathy or boast about her own skills? Maybe both.] It's pretty scary being here all by myself, so it'd be great if someone can let me join their crew! I'm a really quick learner and I'm great at finding treasure!

[And...one last thing that's been bothering her. She assumes a thoughtful pose.] There's a bunch of weird-looking entries on the journal. Does this kind of thing happen a lot around here?

Action;
[A new place! Anise spends most of her time exploring, first trying to find a way to get home, then slowly growing enchanted with her new surroundings. She rummages through the Backwater Brig and the market, and tries to talk her way into a tavern or two. Maybe this will finally be her chance to try some alcohol...!]

*Adol's also wandering around, trying to figure things out in this new place which definitely doesn't look like anywhere near Felghana. He spots the young girl roaming around the market, holding a journal like his own. Maybe she possibly knew something?* Excuse me! Did you just arrive here too?

[Waaaah! Finally, a guy who looked just as lost as she did! She runs up to him, then proceeds to try fling her arms around him.]

I did! I've been so scared and alone...

*woah hey now that's sudden! Adol's a little taken aback at first but then pats her on the shoulder.* It's...it's going to be all right. We just need to get our bearings wherever this is.

[And she lets go, calmer now, partly because it's nice to have someone here and partly because she hadn't really been as upset as she was acting.]

You've got no idea where we are, huh?

I can't say that I do, but the only way to find out is to ask around. I did get a message at the beginning of my journal. Did you get the same.

Journal? [Oh, right, she almost forgot about that weird book. She pulls it out.]

Are you talking about this thing?

Yeah. There's some information on the first page. It's also how people communicate from long distances. Whatever someone else writes, it shows up in your own journal.

Whoa, you've figured out a lot already! How long have you been here?

About as long as you have. *Adol is kind of used to abruptly starting adventures not knowing how the hell he arrived where he is.*

My name's Adol. Who are you?

Anise Tatlin, at your service! [She strikes a cute pose as she speaks, but quickly goes back to her usual stance.]

So, Adol. What have you figured out so far?

Only that we have to find pieces of that gem to go home and we'll all need to join crews in order to do that. That we have just enough money to help us out on this island for a little while.

Yeah...Jeez, I wonder where we can find more money! Just sailing around doesn't sound like it'll make much.

*He closes his eyes to think over all that he's learned so far.* The only option seems like you have to join a crew so you'd have a place to stay, as well as make money from exploration.
