Hey, everybody, it's me, Hajime! I didn't do a birthday post last month because everybody was so busy with their visit to Isla Empieza. We were on Phantasia, so sorry we missed you all! We'll all need to get together again some other time.

Anyway, now that it's a new year, it's time for a new BIRTHDAY LIST! Lots of people on the old list went home, so it's super short now. Let's all work together to make it big again!

Well... I don't have a record of all the current shepherds, but I do remember several birthdays of the Shepherds from back home, a few of which happen to be here. If you do not already have these dates... Here, let me simply write this down for you.

Homura!!! I haven't heard from you in a long time! I've been super ultra busy, though, and so much has happened! All the boys went home, so me and Clem found a new crew and I've been having SO MUCH FUN getting to know everybody! Do you wanna hear all about them? I could tell you all about them! You need to tell me what you've been up to, too!

Thanks a bunch! April's another big month for birthdays! Maybe we should get together and have a big April birthday party. Doesn't that sound like fun?

Did you make friends with Rin? I never got a chance to ask. You two would get along really well! He says things like that aaaaallllllllll the time, since he has to go home and win the Olympics because reasons.

No. [As far as he's concerned, he hasn't made any friends.] I've got places to go back where I come from.

[As well as people to kill and stuff. Far more important than some sport events if you ask him.]

What kind of places? Were you really busy?

Yeah, I am.

[What sort of places is none of her business, naturally. Being a wanted criminal teaches you not to talk about your location and plans openly, on top of Ragna being an asshole.]

Oh, you still are? Is Onichika giving you a lot to do?

[She'll sit here and talk to the journal all day if no one on her ship gives her something to do. There's no sense trying to wait her out.]

[But "I'm busy" is synonymous to "leave me alone", which Hajime has already proven to be immune to. Too bad this one doesn't seem to be working, either.]

[ It really has been a long time- SHE WAS NOT PREPARED FOR THIS. Homura barely manages to keep up. ]

Sure? I mean, I've been okay- I'm sorry to hear that- and Madoka went home, too, but... other than that, nothing much has happened here.

[Oh, Ragrumpy...you missed the days she used to call Haruka "Harukitty." You have it easy.]

That's good! You need to make sure you're taking breaks and having some fun! Do you have any hobbies, Ragrumpy?

I noticed that Madoka wasn't here anymore. I'm really sorry. I know you really wanted to find her and everything. If you ever need a new crew to sail with, you can come with us! Our captain is really cool. He's always like "Excellent!" and he plays the shamisen! Our first mate is very nice and takes good care of us, but he's kind of gloomy like you so I think you'd get along really well with him! You might not get along with Rin, though, since he's really cranky and is all "OLYMPICS!" all the time whether we like it or not. Ai likes it though! Rin is Ai's senpai from back home, so Ai thinks he's the coolest person ever.

[The rambling pauses for a moment.]

And then there's just me and Clem! Have I told you about Clem? She's only nine, but she's really brave and smart! She's like my little sister now.

I... yes.

[ Homura falls silent as Hajime rambles on. The other girl's invitation to join their crew is really quite touching, for some reason. It's just the sort of kind gesture that Madoka would have- ]

[ ... Hajime won't be able to see her using her sleeve to wipe her eyes, but she may hear a small sniff. ]

No, you haven't told me about Clem. But at least it sounds like you've found a good crew. Thank you for your offer, but I... I have my own crew to think about. Perhaps some other day.

Well... as much as I might like that... I fear I don't necessarily get along terribly well with many of the crews. I fear my anti-piracy status has alienated me from many, if not made some want to simply outright kill me. So you'll understand if I'm slightly... hesitant... to join any birthday celebrations.

Sure! I'm sure we'll meet up someday, too! My crew is on Isla Empieza right now and I'm gonna go to Alalapowhatsitcalled wherever Ace and Luffy's crews are for a birthday party. After that, who knows!

Oh, right, there is a crew like that isn't there? I don't think anyone will mind, especially since that guy with the monkey went home! Well, Onichika says he's a pirate, too, but he's all "I'll show them what a true pirate should be!" and he'll tell you what he means if you ask him, too, and it doesn't sound too bad to me. So you should come!

[He was tempted to skip this entirely, but seeing how he knows people that have done it already, and he might get something free out of this down the road ... even if it was highly unlikely he decided to roll with it]
