I'm sorry but, does anyone know how to tell if you've broken something on a ship? Because I think I might have pulled a little too hard on a rope and it snapped. Is that a bad thing?

Rope will snap from too much tension. You're lucky you're alright,snapped lines are extremely dangerous to get hit with it. It's the mast and sails you don't want to be damaging.

That's kind of why I keep away from the mast and sails. I have a bad habit of breaking things, like the rope.

Can't you just tie the two snapped parts back together again? Problem solved!

I could try that couldn't I. It wouldn't be as good as new, but it would be somewhat fixed.

Where could I find new rope though? We're at sea.

Oh right. What about clothes? Bed sheets?!

I guess bed sheets might be a good one as they are longer than clothes. I should go fetch some.

Alright, please show me what it is you've broken... and how in the world did you pull so hard that you snapped one of these ropes? They aren't exactly fragile or anything.

[Maribelle investigates the snapped rope, pulling some extra slack so that it can reach where she needs it too.]

Well, at least it's only the rope that snapped. If you'd snapped the wood as well, that would be a project that could take all day. You do know how to at least tie a square knot, correct? If you tie the two ends together that had snapped it should work for a temporary fix at the very least.

What exactly do you do for a living that require's such ridiculous strength? I thought only that oaf Vaike would be able to make blunders like this.

I was the Phantomhive gardener back home. It didn't require strength, but it was outdoors and I love being outdoors.

O-on second thought, why don't you just hold these two ends for me, and I'll tie the knot. Something tells me that if you snapped it in the first place, you need someone with more delicate hands to deal with these nitty gritty details.

No, it's a company, but the Master expands in various areas, like toys, perfume and candy. I don't work for that business, I just work at his manor.

I did back home. Can't so much here you know.... [To be honest he somewhat missed it, he knew that he was somewhere else at the time, but he knew then he;d be back home. Now that wasn't the case he was a little homesick.]

My duties were to tend to the garden. On occasion I could even greet the guests, but that was rare. I would also do what Sebastian would ask, so it wasn't always stuff to do with the garden.

[Also secretly a houseguard of sorts who is meant to defend the place to the bitter end, but he ain't going to mention that, nope.]

[Smoker is a little too used to this given the people from his world who do this all too often and all too easily. So he just comes out on deck to find out for himself.]

I pulled it and it snapped.

Huh... Must be a pretty flimsy rope.

[Switches to a light grin.] All right, let's see what kind of knots we can use to make it stronger, all right?

[No, he's just freakishly strong.]

I can do knots. Although I can only do basic ones.

[He pauses as he looked at the rope. Okay, typing a knot was easy. He starts of slowly like tying a shoelace at least. After about five minutes he holds up his basic knot.]
