Since we haven't made land yet because we haven't learned how to sail a ship that's been out of date for nearly 2000 years, I'm getting a large collection of Haiku poems. Really though, we could use some advice about sailing, other than that the idea is to go with the wind.

Best way a teachin' it's t' show y'. Where y' all at?

That's the thing, navigating by water isn't our strong point. So I haven't a clue where we are. Just look for the ship with a bunch of people running around and getting stuck in the rigging.

Shiiiiit what the hell were y' all thinkin'? How the hell'd y' even get out t' sea?

I'm going to go with sheer dumb luck and a good tailwind.

A'ight, we prob'ly ain't anywhere near y', but I can draw y' pictures an' see if that helps y' figure out what needs t' be done. How many's in yer crew, first off? Need t' know what kind a ship y' got.

There's six of us and the model of ship is a Caravel. Mostly we just need to understand how we get the sails in order to be able to move.

[And not take out their commander with the boom once again.]

And perhaps how to navigate without many visible land markers during the day.

[A drawing starts taking shape on the page, with labels for the parts of the ship, the names of the sails, and names of each rope. Then he starts drawing another diagram, this one showing the different sail configurations.]

So most basic thing t' do is keep control a yer sails, make 'em do what y' want 'em t' do and not jus' let 'em fly free. Y'll knock someone overboard or snap yer mast an' that is gonna make yer life shitty hell. There's cleats an' winches where y' tie 'em off, though yer prob'ly gonna be better off gettin' the sails furled an' rowin' 'round 'til y' find land.

[Having a look at his diagrams it's actually really easy to understand how to sail depending on the wind direction. It's amazingly simple in theory but she knows that it'll be more complex to get the sails in position and tied down.]

We already almost took out one of the Commanders with the boom. But, with this we should be able to get the ship in order. Or at least be able to move and try not to run aground.

There's more, like keepin' the sails from luffin' an' shit like that but... well, there y' got a start. Asked 'bout navigatin' too, right? Any a y' lot got a compass?

We do have a compass, that's the only thing that's been saving us so far. Now, what is luffing a sail?

It's when y' got yer sails jacked all t' shit. 'Less yer doin' it on purpose. Haaaaa jus' try t' keep yerselves reachin' in the wind, that way y' don't get too much speed t' handle but y' ain't not gettin' anywhere either. Get t' an island, find someone who knows what the hell they're doin' t' sail with y'. If y' ain't too far out from Empieza row back, I ain't shittin' y'. The sea's a hungry sucker an' she won't hesitate t' swallow y' up an' yer li'l boat too.

We're running low on supplies too. Advice isn't all we need.

If we get someone to teach us to sail then one will take care of the other, right?

If we live long enough to make it back to land.

I'm making a list of supplies we'll need either way. Guess who my first choice for getting them is?

We should live long enough, I'm trying to recruit us some help.

I'm really hoping that your first choice is Thane, but I doubt that's the case.

We're not exactly making any money, so a certain skillset would be best.

[So... no, not Thane. He's got the skills, but he might have a few moral quandaries about the act.]

This is assuming we even make it back to the island anyways.

We don't necessarily have to make it back to land. We're fugitives right? So as pirates we could just loot another ship that passes us.

If we ever figure out how to actually sail.

About that, I now have diagrams to show the crew so we can get moving.

I asked for them actually. Surprisingly, it worked.

We'll get everyone together and see what we can figure out about the diagrams.

If we can't find an island in the next few days then 'borrowing' some supplies might be our best option.

With the way you make things sound, you might have had a second career in galactic politics, Kasumi.

While that's flattering, I don't think I could sit through the amount of bullshit the council would throw at me. My kleptomania might also hinder my chances and I'd actually have to something with my hair under this hood.

Probably not, but I like to keep a low profile. Udina certainly wants his title plastered over everything he can touch.
