First Journal Entry - Written

 Isla Empieza, where is that? I must have fainted again, because I woke up in the middle of the street but nothing looks familiar. I found this journal here in my pocket, and I know I didn't have it before. Everything about this place looks old and outdated. I didn't think there were any places like this around. I don't really know where I am. Is this some district of Sapporo?

People are moving and bustling around, which is normal, but even the shopkeepers can't tell me where to get the bus back to Ezonoo. I don't know what a Scurvey Dog is, or why there's a note in this journal, but I guess if it's meant to belong to someone else, they're not around anymore. It's portable, maybe I could put my math and science formulas in here for quick study. 

As always, there are no bars on my phone. Why can't my phone ever work when I need it to?

Gonna take a guess you're not the sharpest knife in the kitchen here. We're not in our own world's anymore, but someone else has probably already told you that.

From what I've gathered, in order to return we need to form pirate crews and set sail to find the shards of a gem that may be our only hope of returning.

First of all, I'm very intelligent. I thought I might have gotten lost. That..happens more then I would care to admit. I'm not good with directions.

I don't think that makes any sense. I mean, where am I? How far is it to go home? I'm very confused.

There's different levels of intelligence, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt seeing as how not everyone is used to weird temporal time and space bullshit.

You won't be getting home anytime soon though bro, you're in an entirely different world from wherever you came from. Only thing to do around here is join a pirate crew and hope for the best. Supposedly if we collect these gem shards and reconstruct the gem, that's our only way home.

This seems like a very unpleasant dream.

I don't know anything about boats or sailing or pirates, aside from novels like Treasure Island.

I've never been this lost before.

Then you've gotta learn. I'm starting up a crew, if you're interested. If you're as smart as you say you are, then it shouldn't take any time at all for you to get the hang of things on a ship. What kind of shit are you good at?

I go to an agricultural school, so I'm pretty good at taking care of cows, pigs, chickens and horses. I can ride a horse, even jump a little bit. Hoeing fields, planting seeds, I've done a bit of that too, but mostly it's the farm animals. I'm in the Dairy Sciences program. I can also make bacon and sausage. I'm not sure how any of these things would translate to being on a boat.

I can also assure you I'm at the top of my grade in classes.

So, you can make food? That'd be something that's better than nothing. And who the fuck knows when those other skills might come in handy, never know what kind of islands might be out there. You can start off as the crew's cook and move up from there, depending on what you're willing to learn.

There's a high probability you'd need to learn how to use a sword somewhere down the line, and I'd be willing to teach you if you think you're up for it.

I can make those things from scratch. I don't usually make a lot of things, but I've also learned about making cheese and yogurt from my teachers and classmates, I know what tastes good, so I should be okay at it. Maybe I can find a rice cooker on this island. That would help a lot. Oh, I also have experience making pizzas.

I've never tried doing many physical things, but my fitness level is much better now that I've gone to Ezonoo. I might be able to learn to use a sword.

Homemade pizza would be pretty fucking sweet, and we can check out what this place has to offer in terms of cookwear so no sweat there.

Sounds like you got the spirit for it, so long as you wanna learn I'll be willing to teach. You in?

Yes, that sounds fine. It's probably the best job for someone like me. I can help you pick out the freshest looking produce and meat as well. I've learned a lot this year!
