Request for Ingredients

Please collect samples of these plants during your island explorations and I will gladly trade coin or other goods for them.

[Small, crude sketches of each herb are painstakingly placed by each entry.]

Heatherum and Foxite - both of these herbs are common in my homeland of Ferelden and are used to make herbal agents.

Deathroot - despite the name, this plant is innocuous when handled. I require the leaves rather than the flowers.

Also useful to me would be any venom extracted from a poisonous creature. It is easiest to find and obtain from giant spiders, though I have not yet seen such spiders in this world. If you happen to face and defeat a spider, please take the time to collect its venom or to inform me of where such spiders can be located.

Just how much coin are we talking about? I want to be sure you'll pay me more than the local traders, you understand.

[Someone familiar with either of those words? Elissa has yet to meet anyone in this realm who knows them. She is cautious in her response - mostly because she's trying not to get her hopes up that this might be someone from her home.]

Yes, I am. You are familiar with both Ferelden and the Wardens? That is unusual.

Very little, at this time. The herbs may not exist in this realm, but I would be surprised to hear there are not poisonous creatures.

Would you be interested in a trade? Or a portion of the very useful items I can make from the listed ingredients?

I was unaware that Rendon Howe had been housing any Wardens at his home. Why were you not further inland assisting with the Blight? Did you serve at Ostagar?

Very little? I appreciate your honesty, but for such rare commodities I'll have to insist on a cut of the produced goods--in addition to what raw payment you can provide me with. That seems fair for the trouble and danger, does it not?

If you can insure that I will have all ingredients, then I agree. The venom is useless without the plants. If they cannot be obtained, then there is no need to endanger yourself for the venom.

Fair point. Unless you have a deadline for when you require these ingredients, I'll contact you when needed so we can discuss payment and transfer in more detail. Thank you for your business.

I was only recruited after the Blight. Rendon Howe has been dead for years now, and the Wardens took over his keep.

I have no deadline. The objective is to restock my supplies before they run out.

[That could make sense - especially with some of the things she's read in the journal about other arrivals to this place. However, it doesn't make it any less odd.]

I've encountered the spiders. Captain smashed them to bits, though.

An apothecary? Well you said you'll trade for them, so I'll keep an eye out, but if they're from your home what makes you think you they'll be here?

[Elissa considers what has been written since her posting, looking over it again. That is one advantage to avoiding the 'Voice' function on the journals.]

You wrote that Rendon Howe had been dead for years, but when I arrived here, he had been dead for only a month. You have my apologies, but the only person that I have recruited for the Grey Wardens is Loghain Mac Tir and I do not recall being given the title of Commander.

The last thing that I remember of Ferelden before waking up on the beach at Isla Empieza is stabbing a sword into the brain of the Archdemon.

I have no proof that they are here, but I hope they can be found. If necessary, I shall check with the Backwater Bridge on Isla Empieza. However, finding another source would be preferable.

Spiders, yes. Dragons take more of a group effort. Tis nice to know that you apparently think well of my future self, Anders. I must say that it is a relief to know I am not the only Fereldan in this place.

Where are you? I serve aboard a ship called The Triton's Mistress. We are currently at an island called Monsuta in the northeast.

We're joining a ship called the Charming Murderess, once we figure out how to get there. For now I'm at Isla Empieza.

The quickest way to board the Murderess is by using the Nav in the shop named Backwater Brig. Have you been there?

The Nav is apparently a magical way of traveling. I have found it quite useful.

I kind of stumbled into it last time. Hopefully I'll be able to find my way back.

I've never heard of magic capable of doing that before.

Be sure that you have everything you need from the island before leaving it. The Navs on the ships cannot send you back to the one in Backwater Brig. That is only a one-way path.

What is it that you do for the Wardens, Anders?
