[Hubert hears Luke yelling, but it isn't until he checks the journals (and spends a significant amount of time trying to decipher Luke's crappy handwriting) that he realizes exactly what's gotten Luke all fired up.
Oh...now he feels bad for apparently being such an annoyance to one of the other crewmembers. He'd tried to keep out of the way of practically anyone that wasn't Piers (and even then he tried his best not to bother Piers), but maybe Asbel had been causing trouble when Hubert wasn't looking? It would be just like him to do something like that.
And so Hubert is currently standing in front of Luke's door, trying to get the courage to knock so he could apologize and try to make amends with him. He'd considered replying to Luke's journal entry, but that seemed impersonal and even a little silly when he could just talk to Luke face-to-face. And an in-person apology would be more sincere, to boot.
Still, even with a loose fist already raised, Hubert is on the verge of turning around and scurrying back to his room to hide. What if Luke was still mad? He didn't want to get yelled at...]
