So, is there anyway to use this thing to call someone, like on a Communication Lacrima?

Should I just hold this thing up and say; 'I'm looking to speak with so and so'

Something like that?

Is there way to do it so that I only call one person?

Anyways. I need to speak to Robin. I had questions and Marco said you were the one with the answers.

Yeah, Robin knows everything. [he agrees 100%] What are you gonna ask?

About that Shiki guy. He seems ... off to me. Marco said to ask her the details.

He's a jerk. [rests the book on his face and props his arms behind his head] I don't like him. But he can make stuff float and that's pretty cool.

Yeah, I got he's pretty full of himself.

Make stuff float? Telekinesis is his magic?

He's a pirate. [it's kind of awesome sometimes, when people aren't jerks. Like Shiki. That jerk. Stealing other people's navigators. And then blowing up cool things. Cuz he's a jerk.]

I don't know what tel...tel...that stuff is but it's his Devil Fruit.

Telekinesis, the ability to move things with your mind.

What's a Devil Fruit?

Oh so it's a mystery power. [he couldn't do anything like that]

It's stuff from home. You eat it and it does weird stuff to you. I'm a rubber person. [pulls at his finger to show because his cheek is otherwise occupied as a book rest. You may hear a faint elastic snap as he stretches his finger and lets it go]

[Pauses, thinks] So what makes him a jerk?

He steals people without asking. [and other things but that's the biggest one. It wasn't even that he stole Nami so much, even though that was pretty bad, but he upset her which was worse]

Yeah, kidnapping is pretty bad.

Mm. [nod and moves the book so he can pick his nose] Anyway why do you wanna know about Shiki? Are you gonna talk to him?

More like I want to know what to expect.

He raised some good points, but my gut tells me not to trust him.

Oh I dunno. [he doesn't like him but that doesn't mean anything] He is a really great pirate and he's really old. [so he probably knows a lot of things]

What things did he do as a pirate?

Who knows. You gotta ask him.

[but Luffy knows he was great. It's a gut feeling mixed with experience that he wouldn't even be able to verbalize. But great rarely means good. Good people who are great have to work super hard at it. Which is partly why Luffy wants to be a pirate because he's not interested in being good if he doesn't want to be]

I don't care about that guy... [so he doesn't care to know] But you know even if you ask Robin, it's not the same as asking him. It's easier to figure out who people are if you ask them yourself, because then you can see them in what they tell you and you can make your own decision.

I've already talked to him. I want to talk to some one else about him.

[Robin grinds her teeth a little. She had hoped her previous experience with the man would go unremarked upon- or at the very least discretely so- so that she could attempt to leverage his ignorance into something useful.]

I just want to know what he's like. What kind of man he is. One guy mentioned he was a great pirate.

Shiki escaped from the world's most heavily fortified prison by cutting off his lower legs, then jabbed sword blades into his knees to take their place.

Yikes. Sounds like a man who doesn't let anything get him down...

The two often go hand in hand, do they not? It's only a question of how long the people you're robbing have been dead.

Yeah, I guess. But it seems to me that robbing dead people is better than robbing and killing living people.

Look, I'll be honest; until coming to this world I had zero interactions with pirates. I didn't even go to the beach that often, so I'm going off of stories my dad told me, and he was a dragon so I have no idea if he was talking about pirates from this century or from five hundred years ago. Or acurate at all.

Pirates are people, first and foremost. You cannot make generalized assumptions about pirates because each pirate is an individual. Perhaps some seek to destroy, while others only wish for adventure or freedom. Some choose the life, some have it thrust upon them. Some seek to change the world. Others are merely doing their best to get by in it. According to the dictates of this world, you yourself are now a pirate. It doesn't change who you are, but it defines, to some extent, the way in which those native to this world react to you. If Shiki seems like someone you'd rather not associate with, then don't. You need no reason besides your disinclination. I could tell you of the islands he conquered, the oppression of the people whose resources he depleted in his bid for supremacy, but would it truly make a difference? You've spoken with the man and formed your own opinion. It requires no further validation.

Mmmm, but it never hurts to get a second opinion.

Mostly I was wondering what he was capable of, and what to look out for if ever he became a threat to my crew. Thanks, you answered the questions I had.

Hey, the kid I was talking to before said you know everything. My world has a history of interacting with other worlds of a sort. Do you know if anyone else came from world that also has? I would like to compare notes.

In answer to your other question. A boy named Roxas is, I think, the only remaining person who has experience moving between worlds of their own volition.

[She leaves unsaid that he's kind of a moron. Sting will learn quickly enough.]
