First Hex ✶ Written (sort of)

[There's no voice or writing at all for this post. Instead, all you get are some drawings. Or more like sketches, really.

The sketches are all of crows, roughly done, but not bad or anything. Crows flying, crows sitting on branches, just crows everywhere. Seriously, someone must really like the black birds.

They're all you're getting, though, sorry. There's no writing at all.]

[Crows? Nothing but crows? A bunch of doodles of crows, for no apparent reason? She couldn't help but be struck by how very similar it was to when they first met Henry and he seemingly came riding in on a murder of crows. All it did manage to do was make Maribelle rather homesick for Ylisse.]

You must really like crows.

[Why yes Henry, your doodle journal is writing back.]

Well that's peculiar... Crows or Ravens tend to be carrion birds mostly, or scavengers.

[She's sort of starting to wonder if this person is around a lot of carnage even since they were little.]

Do you go out of your way to feed them? Maybe that's why they would flock to you so much.

[One of the drawings now has a little arrow pointing to it labeled "cute."]

... Oh.

[This person even sounded like Henry the way the so casually wrote about being around corpses a lot.]

What line of work are you in that you're around corpses so often? Are you a graveyard keeper perhaps? Or maybe an undertaker?

[Please don't say something garish like you're an assassin.]

[Aw! Karen finds an empty space nearby to write in.]

You like crows?
oceanicbutterfly: ([k] Hm...)

[So far this person seems perfectly normal and obviously nothing will happen to change that impression ever.]

I haven't noticed any, either, but that doesn't mean they aren't here. I've been on the ocean most of the time, after all.

That's a good plan. And it's possible you'll find some by going on a ship. Some of the islands have different wildlife.

[Oh, drawings! That's an invitation for him to join in, isn't it?]

[Joining Henry's crows on the page are a few sketched doves. one of them is even flying out of a top hat]

[Kaito quickly doodles another dove next to the crow, adding a speech bubble with an exclamation mark in it above its head as he does so]

Do you like all birds or just certain species?

It's certainly a more appealing reason than having to leave because the residents are becoming violent.

Really? I haven't met to many people who have served in an army since my time here. I was also in the army for a time myself. Although, that still doesn't explain why they would have been around you since childhood.
