Could anyone tell me about the comic books in their world? If your world has comic books, I mean. I want to hear about what kinds of stories they have, especially if they're about superheroes.

[Hubert loves the comics he got from the Christmas ship, but he can only re-read them so many times. And all he can find in the shops on Empieza are regular books. Which he's not necessarily upset about, because he likes books in general, but...they don't have superheroes. PLZ TO ENTERTAIN HIM WITH EPIC STORIES OF GOOD GUYS WITH COOL WEAPONS BEATING UP BAD GUYS.]

Hmm... Well, I started to read this one series about a guy that was fighting to save his city from this giant, mutant shark-man...thing. I didn't really have time to get into it. Not long after mom bought them for me, I wound up with the Keyblade.

...And after that, it was nothing but fighting Heartless and Nobodies!

[Gives a bit of a laugh.]

Do you know about Kafka Man? They've gotta have him where you're from, right?

[Rather than jumping out of the corner of the ship and scaring the snot out of this kid, Asch chooses to write out a response.]

There were a few books about a master of disguise on my world. I think the first one was Star of Ispania.

Comics?

[yeah jaune had just overheard him. the young man walks over to hubert, smiling sheepishly.]

Yeah, I used to read tons of those! All about heroes 'n stuff. Nothing all that unique.

You could probably ask Jaune about that. He seems far more into those types of things.

[ He's all hero-this and hero-that, he has to be right? ]

Heartless and Nobodies? Are those...monsters?

[That sounds a bit more interesting than the guy trying to save his city from Shark Man Dude.]

Kafka Man? No, I haven't heard of him before...

[What kind of name is "Kafka"?]

Anyway. Star of Ispania. Pretty impressive stuff.]

Yeah! I talked with him earlier about them. He says he's read a lot.

[ She doesn't sound like she's judging him too harshly on that, it just makes sense to her given some of the things he says. Oh well. ]

Why are you interested in them?

Uhmmm.... not really, they all were kind of my faves.

[Wait until you see her costume.]

A legendary thief, a woman. She was skilled in all sorts of combat and espionage. She protected the poor and downtrodden, from what I remember. She would steal from greedy nobles with evil intentions, then share their wealth with those who needed it.

[Natalia chose that woman as her role model. And then she never shut up about it.]

Well, they're really cool, I guess! The heroes all have amazing powers or weapons and they get to defeat bad guys and save innocent people from peril. It's a lot of fun to read!

[It's super escapist in general, but especially for someone like Hubert, who's a timid and sheltered little rich kid.]

They must have been really amazing stories, then.

That sounds amazing! Why was she called the Star of Ispania, though?

What? You're kidding! [But Kafka Man was everywhere--his third movie was coming out in less than a week! Or, less than a week four months ago. Close enough.] You know--chunky bug suit, antennae, immortality shtick? You can't not know about Kafka Man.

Ispania was the name of the country she lived in. I believe the 'star' part was to designate her as a sort of hero, though I could be wrong. It's been a long time.

Do you want to be a hero when you're older?

They were! What about you, do you have any faves?

I think that makes sense. She must have been like a star for those that she helped. [How poetic, Hubert.] Was she based on a real person? [Sometimes these sorts of stories were, after all.]

...I don't think I can. I'm not strong enough or brave enough.

Yeah! There's one from my world called Troll Calibur. The main hero has a double-bladed weapon that he can break apart and transform into guns!

You know, back home, a lot of my friends have weapons that are also guns!
