piratejournal | [Voice] Christmas is awfully close!

[There's the sound of someone clearing their throat and their teeth chattering a bit. It's so cold. After a moment Clementine's young, animated voice comes over the journal.]

Hi everyone. It's Clementine here. I haven't talked to you guys in a bit, but it's really too cold to move!

So um, Hajime was telling me how some people don't know about Christmas, but it's the best holiday ever so I thought I could tell you guys about it so everyone knows!

At Christmas, Santa comes to bring presents if you're good. If you're not good, Santa brings you a lump of coal. I think he's pretty relaxed, because one year I was bad and I got into a fight with a kid at school and Santa still brought me presents. He's the best!

We don't know if Santa comes here, but we hope so. Presents are super nice to have, and to give. Usually at school we make a card for mom and dad, but I don't have anything to do that. I guess I can just wish everyone a Merry Christmas this year.

There's all kinds of fun stories with reindeer and snowmen and lots of movies on TV. And we usually get a big tree and decorate it with lots of shiny things.

And we sing Christmas carols! That's always fun too, in music class, when we sing about winter. So um, I think that's about it - oh wait. We usually have a big dinner for Christmas too! Lots and lots of cookies. I know none of us are at home, but maybe we can have Christmas here. I can answer any questions you have if I know the answer, I mean. The winter time made me think of it again. I thought Santa would be a nice thing to think of when it's so cold.

I would like to know more about this holiday, especially the songs. We have nothing like it in Ferelden. In fact, this would be the month of Haring back home and we have no holidays at all during that time. The next holiday for me will be First Day which begins the new year on the first of Wintermarch.

Who is this Santa? Is he a relative?

No, he's not a relative. He's a big man in a red and white suit with a white beard. He brings presents to all the good children on Christmas Eve!

[Big man with a white beard made Elissa think of Arl Eamon and she would hate to see just how he would decide which children were deserving of reward after the way he'd treated Alistair.]

No, he flies all around the world on a sled with reindeer. I don't remember how many, but there's lots. He comes down the chimney to bring all the kids in the world presents. He's the best!

A sled that flies - now that is interesting. What is your favorite song?

Oh, there's lots to pick. I think I like Jingle Bells the best!

That was very beautiful! I would applaud, but it wouldn't be wise at the present time. I would love to learn more songs from your winter holiday when you have the time.
