[he's been feeling out of sorts for...since he returned really. Spending most of his time in Deesuko in a rented room so no one on the ship will worry and just think he's out on an extended bender. He hasn't done much in the way of drinking or whoring or much of anything other than watching the shadows on the ceiling.

In any case it's been a while so he sings softly]

I made it up out of old tunes. Bad tunes apparently, but it is what it is. Do you sing?

I used to. I was a well-known singer in the city of Cloudbank, until I lost my voice.

That's hard luck, mate. I'm sorry to hear it.[the written word can't really convey the sympathy he feels. To lose something you relied on that much-- He would have been hard pressed to continue.]

It's alright. I could've lost so much more. All I can do now is keep moving forward.

That's the spirit. Easier to say than do, but much easier if you have close friends at hand to help you step up. [he won't use the term nakama here. Too many people can't understand what it means]

It's turned out to be an interesting change of pace. They've all been very good to me.

I'm grateful to them.
