[voice][action for Bloody Roses]
*In the evening, Faye stands up on the deck, looking out across the water, gazing at how beautiful all those lights look*
Okay, so the rainbow glitter thing is kind of camp but...
Okay, so the rainbow glitter thing is kind of camp but...
...these lights are really pretty.
Not bad, crazy pirate world, not so bad.

[Even then, he looked back at the lights for a few more minutes, his eyebrows furrowing a bit as he tried to make out what exactly they were saying. But soon enough he realized that hearing her speak must have broken his concentration or something... he couldn't hear them anymore at the moment. Just as well. He wanted to go talk to her anyway]
[Waiting until she seemed to be done talking to the journal, he walked over to near where she was standing, leaning on the railing a bit with his forearms and looking out where she was looking]
Pretty strange, huh? I wonder what they are...
[Action]
Strange, but really...pretty.
*Up on her tip toes, Faye leaned over the edge slightly, trying to get a better look*
Re: [Action]
I want to go see what they are...
[They seemed to move slowly, which suggested they were perhaps part of a living thing... and if Thash was listening to his instincts, they'd tell him it was completely stupid to dive in and check them out. But he'd subconsciously hushed those instincts in an attempt to hear that maddeningly enticing voice]
I almost kinda feel like... they want me to come see what they are?
no subject
Go and see them?
*If he wasn't part shark, Faye might have told him he was being stupid. But it's nothing unusual for Thash to dip in and out of the sea*
They? What? You think the lights can talk?
no subject
Eheh... no, not really talk exactly. At least... not in a way that can be heard with ears...
[That sounded even crazier]
What I mean to say is that I feel like going to see them, that's all.
[He kept staring at them, not even looking at Faye since he'd first come over to her. He felt like he'd discover something special if he could just touch the lights... and the feeling seemed to be getting stronger with each passing moment. But he coudln't really explain that without Faye thinking he was completely mad, so he kept it to himself]
Aren't you curious? Once I see what they are, I'll come back and tell you.
no subject
Alright then. Go for it.
*It's not like they looked dangerous - they were only lights. She was confident he'd manage no problem*
no subject
[He put his hands on the railing, about to jump over, but paused. Finally at least on epart of his cautious side was loud enough to be heard]
y'know, maybe I should bring my sword... just in case.
[He he ran to go grab it, returning very quickly]
Okay! Ready to go now. See ya in a bit.
[Keeping the sword gripped in one hand, he dove off the side into the water. He aimed for an area without any lights right in it, wanting to see what they were before bumping right into them]

Action!~ Even if we already have thread fufu
Catching herself so she doesn't tumble over, she spots Faye below, on the deck.]
What do you think this is?
^^
No idea. Could be anything.
no subject
She approaches the edge of the ship, giving the lights a better look.]
I saw something similar, back home, when I was visiting Freljord mountains. But the lights were in the skies, not under water.
no subject
Oh yeah? Did it look like this?
no subject
Yes. There were red ones and blue ones.
[She crosses her arms and leans fully on the edge-]
Freljordians believe that Gods send red lights to warn about war, danger, evil magic. Blue lights were sent to honor the stillborn children and fallen warriors that died because of ruthless, freezing winters.
no subject
Those are some pretty depressing things to send lights for... But that's thoughtful all the same, I guess.
no subject
Well, they have no explanation why it happens, so they have to come up with something otherwise people panic. And how better to calm people down than using Gods? [It's obvious she doesn't believe a zilch of what those Freljord people say about the lights.]

action;
She agreed, the rainbow stuff was cute but obnoxious, but even someone as black-hearted as her was pleased by the beauty of nature sometimes.]
The world can be a beautiful place sometimes, huh?
action;
Surprising sometimes, isn't it?
*Sometimes she still forgot that she lived at sea and not in space, so she liked looking out across the water. But with all these pretty lights it was even more beautiful*
action;
[If she ever has. She doesn't allow herself to feel sad over this, as well as not being able to share this experience with her actual loved ones.]
action;
You know what? I don't either.
action;
There aren't many great sights like this where you're from?
[When she thought about it, she had no idea what Faye did before coming here. Which was fine, but it was always good to have this info on the people she was close to.]
action;
*Faye looked at Bonnie, then tilted her head up to look at the sky*
Sometimes the view could be nice from the ship.
action;
[The stars. Faye had said "most planets", which made Bonnie curious, wondering about space travel...]
Did you spend a lot of time traveling around the universe?
